Despite looking like a burger exterminator, Tai Tuivasa manages to send UFC heavyweights into oblivion. With no foundational martial arts training he ascended to the top of the most prestigious weight class. Today we take a deep dive into the career of the Australian brawler, who traded bright prospects in rugby for a harsh prizefighter life.

This man is the archetypical brawler: Not too streamlined, not too refined but as sturdy as a bridge and as strong as a bull. He honestly shows great restraint. As soon as he sees his opponent is lights out he doesn't hurt them anymore while they're defenseless. Being hungover makes me a little extra tired, I'll spend the day hurting slightly but relaxed the night before a race I'll sleep like a baby. The next morning I'll be rested, ridiculously carbed up, ready to run 13 miles and still feel like I have gas left by the time I cross the finish line. I'm starting to get too old to drink all the time, I'm not in my early 20's anymore (was a bad idea even then haha), so I just drink strategically :)

Cyril was just teeing up on Bam-Bam, that was a clear display of a methodical fighter vs a brawler with a strong chin. History has shown time and time again that the fighter does win that match-up in most cases. As much as I love watching brawlers like Tank Abbott and Chuck Liddell, and Tai here, it's just not a style that has any lasting success in the octagon especially these days.

When I lived in Darwin I was given some advice if I got in a scrap with an aborigine. Never punch them in the head. I witnessed this in some horrific fights some running head shots with no impact. Jon Jones shouldnt even be in the conversation, the guy literally gets the fail from USADA state commisions and UFC moves the fight to another state (Arizona) so he can fight while ON steroids, not having benefit of but currently ON. And thats just what they can find.
