Hey man I read you comment, I hope you're doing well. I know how much depression sucks and how draining it is to keep up an act when that's not how you feel inside. I read this and thought I wanted to let you know there is a way to overcome these negative compulsive thoughts and emotions you are feeling right now. I hope this doesn't sound too pushy or insensitive but from my experience it really helped me tremendously. And that thing is meditation. I know when you're in a negative state you don't feel like doing anything and rather just sleep or entertain yourself but speaking from experience spending some time everyday meditating can really bring noticeable positive mental changes to your mind in a short while. The process is sit cross legged with your hands on your thighs and palms facing upwards. Close your eyes. Initially you'll face many compulsive thoughts and emotions but ignore them and just simply sit. Let them come and go, don't try to take away your thoughts and emotions cause that will make them multiply and create more thoughts (for example, if I say to you don't think of a monkey, the more harder you try to not think of a monkey the more you'll start to think of monkeys). Simply sit there letting thoughts and emotions come and go. You can do this process for however long you want and as many times as you want (you can start of with maybe 5-10 minutes of meditation a few times a day and slowly increase the duration) Just make sure to do it consistently to benefit fully from the meditation. Your mind will become more balanced and you'll notice less negative compulsive thoughts and emotions in your life as well as more joy. Also any urges, addictions and bad habits will start to weaken as you meditate too. Hope this helps you, and I hope you try it out and see the benefits. (If you are struggling to try it out you can tell yourself that you'll do the meditation for a month no matter what and then at the end of the month see if it has helped you)
