It's because of theft. Alot of which doesn't happen there.
@MThomasB
@MThomasB 15 днів тому
@@Kltpzyxm17 It is not all because of theft. If people on average make less in that area I imagine that would reflect this cost somewhat too. I know there are rich people everywhere but on average in Thailand a person makes around 490.00 USD a month....
@--Animal--
@--Animal-- 15 днів тому
@@Kltpzyxm17 theft, shrinkage (unsellable product) is always considered into the prices everywhere in the world, you can add corporate greed to the list of why stuff is more expensive in USA. As long as one of the richest countries in the world is willing to pay 7 dollars for a coffee expect your prices to continue to grow. But then again blaming everything on theft and the poor is also very american.

When I stayed in Thailand for a long time, I had to eat food from 7-Eleven for many weeks. The crusty sandwiches were especially common. At first, it felt new and interesting. I mostly enjoyed the sandwiches with pandan filling. However, after a while, it felt like eating food from a gas station in your own country. If you plan to live in Thailand for an extended period, I recommend learning how to cook Thai food or getting meals delivered from local small businesses. That way, you can have fresh, hygienic, and more nutritious food.

Sausage...gummies...in your drink?! At least you didn't get Mrs. Bacons to try that one, because I well remember her horrified reaction after trying out your custom soda drink at Jollibee the one time! Thai 7-11 doesn't appear to be quite as legendary as Japanese 7-11, but I definitely would still try it if ever I go to Thailand.

@@smol-one I’m not lying. He got a special soda (about $2), a special milk (about $2), glass jellies ($2) and gummy sausages $2). Then add tax. I just got back from a 2 week road trip the big gulps were what I drank but once you start taking stuff out of the fridge the price go way up. Also candy and snacks are ridiculously expensive. For those curious about the low prices, the average daily wage in Thailand is between from 328 Baht to 354 THB or $10.20 USD. A lot of this stuff is way too expensive for the average thai worker to consume regularly. It only seems less expensive because of the parity between developed countries like the US.
