Electroplating 3D Prints creates beautiful authentic Props, like this indiana jones coronado cross prop. #electroplating your 3d prints with gold, copper, nickel will create convincing objects for you prop collection or the next comic con. #cosplay
In this video I'll show how to create heavy gold electroplated #3dprints.
These are the ingrediens I used for electroforming/electroplating in this video.
Chemicals for the prints:
🛒 Copper Anode: amzn.to/42XdwZS *
🛒 Bright Copper Electrolyte: amzn.to/3zk2S1F *
🛒 Conductive Copper Paint amzn.to/47cpbpR *
🛒 Palladium Electrolyte amzn.to/3DDr8hD *
Optional:
🛒 Gold Electrolyte (Pen) amzn.to/44NNwRp *
🛒 Gold Electrolyte (Bath) amzn.to/3QJoInD *
🛒 GRAPHIT Paint amzn.to/3YtPZhD *
🛒 Galvanic Degreaser amzn.to/3rV4v5r *

Gorgeous, as always. I recently went to Munich for holiday and purchased the copper paint you used and brought it back for testing. The results with that paint really can't be under-emphasized - It's by far the easiest to use conductive paint I've encountered or managed to make. It's a shame Tifoo doesn't ship outside of Germany, it shames every conductive paint I've ever bought for testing here in the states.

Hey, if you run your prints under hot water the supports will be much easier to remove and the results are much cleaner as well. Also would you have a cross section that shows the thickness of the metal that gets adhered to one of your prints, I'd like to see a sample of the finished results of how much metal sticks to a print. Again, another job well done!!!💯🔥

Hey, thank you very much for linking the items you use in the description, however none of them I can order in the U.S. Are there any other products that you know of that I could order in the States or could I possibly find them at local hardware stores maybe? I don't know exactly what specifications I should be looking for when shopping for these things. For instance, if there's some kind of electrolyte or varnish I should be avoiding because it won't work as well for electroplating.

When you electroplate with copper do you need to use a brightening solution or can you just make your own aqueous copper
@WariceHimSelf
@WariceHimSelf 6 місяців тому
you don't need a brightening solution, but it's highly recommended. Without a brightener, your piece will come out dull and will need a lot more polishing, although there is a process called 'electropolishing', where you place your part in phosphoric acid, and apply voltage to polish your part. Electropolishing is more expensive that just buying a brightener, but it'll give your part a good shine. here is a video on making your own aqueous copper solution: ukposts.info/have/v-deo/fWWbhqeRoKafqok.html and here is a video on electropolishing: ukposts.info/have/v-deo/bXh3foqWqpxeuGQ.html
