With her firepower and possessing the best return of serve and backhand in the tour, she's still extremely dangerous even though her moment is hammered!

Guys it’s not really Svitolina’s fault. The top 10 just doesn’t have dominate women. When Serena, Sharapova, and Azarenka we’re dominating they were all just so much better than the rest of the field that even when they weren’t playing their best they would still win. That’s why you’d see them come back from breaks or injuries and still be able to beat top players because they were just more technically sound players than everyone else. Osaka is the only dominate player at the moment. And it’s only on hard court. Her best can beat everyone on that surface. All the other girls could play their best and still lose to someone else in the top 10. Kvitova is the only other one I can think of whose best can beat pretty much everyone. However she rarely plays her best. These girls just aren’t as consistently dominant as top players of the past so I don’t find it that shocking to see them lose to Azarenka because she is just better than most of them even when she’s not 100%. I mean there was a good 4 years where Serena, Sharapova, and Azarenka were winning 90% of the tournaments and were making deep runs all year long on all surfaces. The girls now a days just don’t have that big of an edge over the others where they can be a factor all year regardless of the surface. Even Osaka has to prove herself on clay and grass.

Unbelievable! Azarenka played injured and Svitolina was not professional enough to concentrate on her own game instead of worrying about what going on with her opponent! Not taking anything away from Azarenka, she played magnificently even though she was injured! One of most unusual magnificent performances in tennis history! Azarenka really deserved to win, and Svitolina absolutely deserved to lose. AND, the icing on the cake, her new lower pitched grunt is a great improvement over her old high pitched agonizingly annoying orgasmic wail! I can actually watch her matches now without turning the sound down! 😂🤣The lower the grunt, the less annoying.

Love to watch Vika play. She's good -- and good for the game. As for Svitolina, she is a very good athlete but she doesn't ever seem to have a game plan. Just keeps hitting the ball back, over and over, with no shaping of points. You can't beat elite players doing that. She's always in the mix, but I never see her win tourneys, it seems.

Vika needs to keep her FH like this even when she's not injured. I feel her FH can get too loopy and attackable for big hitters like against Pegula at the AO.
