I don’t think fair to say that the lyrics were generated with Ai. Elvellon doesn’t strike me as a band that would do that. You can hear they make music for the passion. That takes a lot of time and effort. They’re not releasing a new album every couple of months… So no point in “skimping” on such a crucial part just to rush it. Elvellon is a German band, so English isn’t their native language. I’m sure they would have used a translator or dictionary for some words and phrases. Even native English speakers do that sometimes. So I don’t see a problem. Usually I feel like non-native bands put more effort into their lyrics, because it isn’t their first language. Bands like Epica often use professional scholars to ensure their lyrics are correct. Even for the latin parts (but that’s a different topic). Also coaches to help them with pronunciation. Not every band can afford people like that. I think the slightly poetic lyrical style Elvellon used suits the music and it is in the same vein as their Debut album. So definitely not a change in style - and I am sure Until Dawn wasn’t generated by AI. The lyrics aren’t groundbreaking or anything, I agree, but I liked the positive, adventurous, dreamy atmosphere. Their lyrics may not be to your taste… I think everyone is free to have their preferences. Somethings a song speaks to you immediately, sometimes it grows on you with time or you may never like it. In any case that’s fine… There are plenty of bands with good music and poor lyrics or sometimes it’s the other way around. It’s difficult to get lyrics to match the music… Sometimes “great” lyrics (from big name bands in various genre’s) have errors. They’re grammatically incorrect etc. Have a look at some of the very early Nightwish songs. (I say Nightwish, because they’re clearly inspired by them). Some of it is written in such a “poetic” tone that is is a bit non-sensical in some places. Up until this day some lyrics by Nightwish are a bit “odd”. No one ever asked if it was made by AI or a poor google translation… In fact Tuomas is often praised for his lyrics. So don’t simply assume Elvellon used AI. I think it is a case of the difference in language with certain expressions or phrases that don’t always “translate” that easily… But I still think a human translated it or that they wrote it directly in English. For my taste, if a song uses mostly “direct” and “common” words the song becomes a bit boring after 2 or 3 listens. Since there are no “additional layers” or “new meanings” to discover. But there is a balance to strike and not over do it. Then the meaning can become too obscure. With all of this said, I totally understand if you are weary of AI lyrics, music, images… AI anything. Me too. I feel like it is already too prevalent and there should be disclaimers if such tools were used. In any case, it seems like it will be a good time ahead for Symphonic Metal in general. Plenty of bands will release new music.

I wanna assure you - once and for all - that AI is & has been no option for us as the very artists Elvellon consists of. Having the opinion it sounds like that is absolutely fine. Then keep on scrolling. But trampling on the hard work we as Elvellon put into our music every day, is simply not ok. Thanks for pushing the algorithm though. Sending love & best regards to you. Sorry if I went a bit overboard trying to defend Elvellon… Your statement is much more concise, but that’s because you would know for certain. Since they are your songs. Congratulations on the 2 singles so far. I am absolutely in love with the music. I think the whole album will be another masterpiece. Until Dawn is very near to my heart. So I have high expectations… I suppose the new album will be an even bigger triumph if the 2 singles are any indication of what to expect. Much love and respect to you all.

I think that’s the point. Bands and fans of this genre are always aiming for that specific sound, not trying to break new ground.
