The fun continues for Florida Powerboat Club members attending the Emerald Coast Powerboat Week events, as spirited poker run crews embark on the Friday Fun Run to a popular waterfront hotspot. As always, Juana's Pagoda's delivered food, fun and entertainment along its sandy beach, giving these weekend warriors all that they came for. Later, the activities moved to AJ's on Destin Harbor where the powerboats took center stage!

2:12 Great to see the Grassy Ass out there. I saw the name and recognized it from over 20 years ago, when I rode on the 1st generation Grassy Ass. I'm glad to hear that Kevin is doing better, and is back to enjoying the finer things. Please pass on some well wishes, should the opportunity present.

Tody they are saying florida is the future of the USA. With all the boating action in florida I'm happy to hear this, although I live in the country your first lady was born in.

So true...Florida is the only state where you can truly enjoy a year-round boating lifestyle, which appeals to so many Americans... a lot of the northern residents are moving south...especially after COVID took NY and NJ and other northern states by storm. Florida allows for outdoor recreation in so many forms...and is an attractive place to live for those reasons. Thanks for your comments!

Destin is becoming busy all year round now. September will not be much better than August or even November. Lots of south florida moving up here.

Yah we have to give it a try...because I want to see this event continue and I know we will see less boat traffic on the waters and better for poker runs Otherwise we will have to move this event offshore in the Gulf, and I really think that is what we need to do at least for the bigger boats....Its an ongoing process to develop events to suit the geography of the area.

Willl a 30' foot boat ever be able to run with the 40+footers? (providing all the power is there) specifically due to length?

Good question Brett- we have at least 15-20 boats on this run every year that are 23-30 feet.. If the water is flat they can certainly run 60 mph all day long...its just a matter of timing and getting some clean open water to run. Just a matter of watching for wakes and other boat traffic... but the answer is YES.

lol B.O.A.T. yeah that works for my fishing boat, but those sweet rides more like B.O.A.T.T. (ten thousand). glad to see so many people not scared of the beer bug. Critical thinking is rare these days.
