Our golden generation. Hopefully it will continue the more we get young girls into football. USA have dominated for so long because "soccer" is considered a female sport and the college set up gave the sport an investment and growth we simply couldn't rival over here. Now the investment has gone into grassroots and we are seeing the dividends already. It really feels like we are only just getting started here in England with what we can achieve on a global scale.

Honestly it usually never ends well for a team that goes into a tournament with a long winning streak.

Offside is when the attacking player is level or beyond the defender when a pass is made. On this occasion the attacker was one foot beyond the defender. Harsh I know, but it can happen to both sides. Basically the forward didn’t time her run .

That was an absolutely atrocious VAR decision to disallow the 2nd goal for USA. The player receiving the pass near the sideline was completely ONSIDE, as well as her teammate who received the first touch flick pass. On live television, they drew an offside line for a US player that was at least 25-30 meters away from that initial action, but because she was obviously not involved in the initial build up her position was completely irrelevant at that moment. Horrendous decision to disallow that goal and poorly explained during the telecast.

I was there at the game and it wasn't homophobic. Lol not in a women's football crowd. It was because what the TV didn't show (yes I have watched the game back) were key moments of gamesmanship. One moment a goalkick was awarded which rapinoe ignored and walked off to the corner flag ball under arm in protest, she spoke back to eng players about a var decision - it was the hemp pen - and the lineswoman had to run onto the pitch to sort it while the ref looked at the var screen, then finally the announcement was made for Rapinoe to be subbed off and she ignored it and stayed on the pitch pretending not to notice before she was told to run off. The cameras picked up none of it.
