There isn't much respect for women in that religion and in many other religions. That is why I find many religions hypocritical. They want to praise God but treat women like 3rd class citizens which really isn't a thing anymore but you get where I'm coming from. I grew up conservative Jewish and it doesn't cut it for me... The families have high divorce rates. They talk about politics and the state of Israel at Temple, a house of worship not political debate, and the families in conservative Jewish community move away from each another for career opportunities. Orthodox Jewish people work with their hands, play instruments, don't get divorced and don't move away from family. Also they protest against the conflict with Palestine and avoid getting drafted. I wish to be part of an Orthodox Jewish community one day

As a Christian-raised atheist I also feel envious of Shabbat dinners. Here in Germany we at least preserve a tiny little bit of this kind of spirit by keeping almost all shops closed on Sundays and most people not working on Sundays. And I am very glad we do.

Do you know how they consider women as inferior human beings. Perhaps the video doesn't quite explore that point clearly from birth to womanhood.

Abby's not a women it's a trans who grew up a Male in that society when Abby chose to live as trans Abby left so Abby wouldn't know... had he spoke to a biological woman who grew up as a woman that would be far more accurate. Remember "Abby" can chose to be Abe later in life we can not.

I guess it's not so easy to get the women's side on tape, especially for a man. In case you missed it, Peter Santenello made an entire series of videos on the Hasidic community of New York 2 years ago, also featuring Shloime Zionce. In one episode he interviews a Hasidic woman, and another is about a Rabbi who gives marriage advice. I think even that series doesn't completely address what you are asking for, but it does contain some relevant information from a sympathetic point of view. For the negative points and how things just don't work for some women, there is information volunteered by women who left the Hasidic community. Add to this the totally unusual and surprising perspective of Sara Braun in her book "That Black Hasidic Lady" and several interviews she appeared in recently, and you get what I guess should be a pretty accurate picture of a multi-faceted community, even if some details may be missing.

@@7jandi7 Abbie never claimed to know first hand what being raised as a woman was like. She’s not supposed to provide that perspective. It’s not that it’s inaccurate. It’s just a different perspective. And you could choose to be Abe any time you want. We’ve got stuff for that now and it works miracles.

I'm not sure of the point of having him do the tour except to passive aggressively disrespect the community's connection to the religion and foundational beliefs. If the objective is to share "that community" with the public it's far more representative to Close a person in the community or someone who shares their commitment to The religious G-D based foundational beliefs.
