You always have to be a little wary. The shows are edited to improve flow. I'm sure it WAS a fast response in the moment, but it will seem even faster after the edits and cuts.

I love the story about how he started to fall for her. Apparently, they vaguely knew each other and got set up on a blind double date on different sides of the table as it were (ie they weren't set up with each other, but other people). David said he couldn't take his eyes off of her the entire night, and tried to ask her out a short while after, but she decided to go with the man she had been set up with. Obviously that ended (I hope) as they are married.

I'm just so thankful that the whole saga happened as long ago as it did, so I don't have to ask myself if Jimmy would've bothered to play it the same way were it more recent. just cause it's sadly become so usual these days when a public persona gets caught on something actually illegal to just go into high gear with obfuscating and denial. if not outright doubling down on them having done nothing wrong or blaming someone else. I'd really like to believe Jimmy would handle it the same way, but I'd rather not know

@dcoog anml I’m in the states and I still agree. I’ve watched nothing but mostly British panel shows ever since discovering they were a thing. WILTY was the first I found on UKposts and I’ve worked my way through just about every single episode of every panel show that’s online. It’s absolutely the best tv ever and I so wished we had them here, but American comedy is nowhere near witty enough, nor most of the general public for that matter. Did you see how we wrecked Taskmaster by “redoing it” for American audiences instead of just airing the original version as is? It irks me how we oversaturate the world with our content, but think we have to remake the content from other countries instead of just introducing the public to the originals. There’s actually a decent amount of Americans who, like me, would absolutely love all of these panel shows if they were to start airing regularly here instead of having to discover these gems for ourselves on UKposts.

The funny thing is, just as they predicted, so much time has passed that Alan is now actually divorced, and just as they said we would be, we are still watching this on a repeat, so Jimmy doing that extra piece is brilliant foreshadowing!
