I noticed the fire 🔥 fighting tanks and pumps on the chase trailers. Also the clear sky.😊. Wonderful Back here in Australia 🇦🇺 the days can have storms building right when we are trying to get the crop off. Fire 🔥 is always an issue.

Good to see Robert and Tanya having a good year after the turmoil of weather in the past. Stimulating the economy is one of Robert's special gifts. We love it.

Even though i retired a while ago,after 47 seasons cutting up to 2000 acres a year in the UK (Britain) i still miss it and would love to harvest in Australia.

Interesting video. Here in Ontario Canada, the harvest can be wet. Tracks here lower the amount of compaction to the damp soil. Quite a team there.

How far are you trucking grain ? Does crop go directly to market or is it stored at another site ?
@BenCrosthwaite110 місяців тому
Most of the grain is carted to Geraldton 80 to 100ks away and delivered to CBH a co-op run by farmers to store most types of grain.
@nebuenteh11 місяців тому
what are the flaps in front of the tractor tires good for? Thanks! And what is the vombine speed and yield? Seems really fast but I am used to German yields
@BenCrosthwaite111 місяців тому
The flaps are to protect the tyres from the Canola stubble. The headers are travelling at 8ks to 10ks.

about your female drivers .[ i remember years ago when i thought females should just bring a feed down the paddock ,and stay away from driving headers etc because they where at best steering wheel holders ,not real operators] i watched an impressive ,eye opening doco on dale stark the big texas stripping contractor who made a statement about his female drivers being better than males because they weren't as rough on the gear . well hopefully we all live and learn .
@brianthesnail381511 місяців тому
Interesting to see the figure of 200t per hour which I assume is the total from four harvesters. I hear the highest capacity harvesters will do over 90 tonnes per hour in heavy wheat crops in the UK so it illustrates how different the yields per hectare are between intensive (UK) and more extensive systems (Aus). I guess moisture in the soil makes a big difference too. Great video and always informative seeing how farming is done different around the world. Long time retired farmer but I still do my bit trying to keep people informed about why farming is so important. Farming under political attack from every quarter here in Europe.
@BenCrosthwaite111 місяців тому
200t per hr from the four headers. I don’t think we could match your yields our soils aren’t as fertile as yours and our rainfall would be less. The interesting thing about our country, most of it was only cleared about fifty years ago.
