Erland Cooper - A Nightingale Sings Outside Our Window

4 роки томуTo highlight Mental Health week; BBC Radio 6 Music's Chris Hawkins invited composer and multi-instrumentalist Erland Cooper to write a piece of music that highlights how music and sound can help our mental health. The finished track features field recordings by 6 Music listeners made whilst in lockdown, Paul Weller, Galya Bisengalieva (solo violin), Robert Ames (solo viola) and Florence Nightingale.
Location footage in Orkney, Scotland was filmed by Alex Kozobolis.

Beautiful. Congratulations Erland and Chris Hawkins & 6Music for bringing this together, I already know that when I hear this back, every time and until I depart this world, it'll remind me of all the different emotions of this lockdown time. [And the excitement of hearing 'my' little owl and sending that in.] A place in time wonderfully captured.

When I woke up during lockdown to the sound of this on my daily 6music alarm call, I was transported to a beautiful place. Even listening back to this now, it brings me to tears.
