The director took a LOT of notes from Saving Private Ryan. That scene reminded me of when they're holding the bridge in SPR and those guys get caught up on top of that tank when the Germans get their 20mm up and running. That HMG part just hits like a ton of bricks. Visceral. This whole series kicked ass. These guys knew their shit and any liberties taken for the sake of cinema paid off. Maybe something wasn't 10000% perfectly realistic but it was damn close and what was captured perfectly was the absolutely insane chaos in a gunfight.
