**************** UPDATE*****************
Full disclosure: We no longer own this tiny home. It served us well for a summer, and we had it professionally winterized before leaving for the season. Upon our return in the spring we discovered that the roof had failed. It was declared "totaled" by the insurance company. It is our hope that the manufacturer learned from our experience and has taken steps to prevent others from having a similar situation.
********************************************
Welcome to our tour of our Escape OneXL! We talk property, infrastructure and of course a tour of the One XL Wide Tall (3:05). At the end we added clips of the delivery (12:10) and setup (14:17).
I've got links below for some of the things that made our little house a home.

Love the different descriptions of appliances to UK. We have the cooker and hob, work surfaces not counter top. Pantry not so common usually we say larder. And we hardly say closet, we call it a wardrobe. Furnace is never used. A fire or heater covers it all.

An absolutely lovely Tiny Home with just the right spaces for your needs. Love the simplicity, you keep everything where needed & a huge plus for me was the outdoors pad. I'm a big fan of being on my own, but also of having lots of family & friends come for some togetherness, & it worries me in tiny spaces/homes, where people don't see the benefit of having people over; when I'm always thinking: how can a space be best shared with others? 🎤😄🎶💃 It might be my Christian outlook, always wanting to share the good things in life. 😅🙏🏼💞 👑 💖 & your concrete Pad is a perfect Bible Study Group get together spot, @ sundown, can you imagine the fun? 🙏🏼💓🏡

Hi there! The website has the base price and all the options. Prices have gone up during Covid due to supply/demand, but overall a great purchase for us. Regarding the truck... you are right, capable truck and driver. Our fault... that corner of the drive (all gravel) hadn't been packed down and was super loose. We'll be testing it out further with construction trucks coming to build this summer!

Hello. I saw your update and had questions. We are looking to have this model built for us but when I saw ur update about the roof I felt uneasy. What was the issue?
@morganwood1
@morganwood1 Рік тому
Hello! We aren’t exactly sure. When our builder (not the manufacturer of the OneXL - the builder who is constructing our home on the property) inspected the roof for us, he provided a very disturbing video/report showing the disintegration of the rubber membrane under the metal roof. (We added the metal roof thinking this would further protect from snow/water. He didn’t understand why this hadn’t been properly flashed, and there were many holes in the rubber where water got in, as well as some screws in the metal that looked suspicious. The manufacturer blamed the holes in the membrane on a woodpecker… Yes, we did discover a woodpecker hole on one of the walls. (Something to keep in mind depending on where you live). But this was well below the roof, and on the opposite end where the water damage occurred. Also, in my experience, woodpeckers are aptly named for their love of wood, not rubber. In the end it was obvious that we were on our own to remedy the disaster, and gratefully had wonderful insurance that took care of us. One thing to remember when insuring - the items inside are indeed “property” but the unit itself is considered a vehicle in most instances - and that affects how insurance covers you.

Hi, my wife and I are working on something similar but in colorado. We are at the planning and saving stage. I am wondering if you bought the land and tiny home together under a construction load and if you have to have the utilities brought in? If so, did you do it with the loan ?
@morganwood1
@morganwood1 2 роки тому
Hello! We bought the land a few years ago, and put all the infrastructure in for both the future house and the tiny home prior to delivery. As I explain in the video, there was no road, water, electric, gas or septic… we brought it all in. No loan at this point - but there likely will be for the house.

It’s OK I think honestly tiny homes should be even wider and I’m really not a fan of yellow pine and I say that because it looks yellow and to me that’s kind of ugly and outdated I would’ve definitely considered whitewashing everything so it would’ve brighten things up a little bit theft space the second one is okay wasn’t really impressed with the downstairs room at all I mean to me that should be more of a living space not an office but like you said you’ve got a house being built and you’ve got that probably filling in as a guest house for people which is a nice thought but you’re really not capitalizing I would do an Airbnb you can just block out the times when you’re having family or friends come stay because at least that way it’s passive income I think there’s just a whole bunch of wood in there that I’m not crazy Val I love white and white together I think that’s a beautiful pairing but I would’ve gone even wider I don’t know if that’s a 10 foot it looks smaller as in the width maybe 12 to 15 feet wide especially if you’re gonna have someone else truck your house to you Speaking of the delivery guy wow he’s not a very good driver he was all over that road and I love how you had one person in front and one person behind fil the entire thing Kitchen was pretty bland for me not sure I would want my washer and dryer where you have it but if it works for you that’s all that matters I just think that people could be a lot more clever with the spaces that they design and put a little more personality into it and I’m curious what it cost you because I don’t know if you actually posted that description but I’ll have a peek cities I’m done writing this

Living in Michigan I’m 23 looking for a house… this would be perfect, all house even most condemned places are $50,000 by the time you fix them you’re out a lot, I much rather spend the $60-$80,000 on the tiny home some land and make that my spot 😅🥱 and eventually I’d like to be in a mountain area like you looks so lovely
