In this project we’re going to create an SMS notification system with the T-Call ESP32 SIM800L module that sends an SMS when sensor readings are above or below a certain threshold.
In this example, we’ll use a DS18B20 temperature sensor, and we’ll send an SMS when the temperature is above 28ºC. Once the temperature has decreased below the threshold, we’ll send another SMS alert.

Thanks for the nice tutorial !! After reading it I purchased a couple of TTGO T-Call ESP32 SIM800L. The only problem I have is that the code is not compiling as the SoftwareSerial is missing. As I read on the internet, SoftwareSerial was removed from the Arduino libraries and became “board dependant”. That means that if I compile for “Arduino MEGA” SoftwareSerial is there. If I compile for ESP32 Dev module, SoftwareSerialis missing. Any help?

May I ask what the benefit is of the ESP Tcall is over the Nano TCall? Is it the addition of WiFi and Bluetooth? Does the ESP also have a RTC (unlike the Nano) and thus can be put into Deep Sleep mode? Thank you

I think LoRa would work better for your project since that method consumes less energy and you dont have to pay for sms

I think that this would actually work even if your current network doesn't support 2g since SMS still works the same way in later networks like 4g and LTE. What do you think?

ever heard that classic old phone that have no 3g or 4g in it ? only 2G. Basically sim800l is like that only support 2G, the problem is in the device which is not support 4G and LTE, not about the network

Did you take any other steps when flashing? I'm trying with platformIO and getting "Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header". On some other ESP32 boards it's fixed by pressing boot button but this one does not have it.

Does your USB-C cable has data pins? If it's just a power USB-C cable from a powerbank, they often are charge only. Do you see your ESP32 board appearing in the Port menu?

Unfortunately no... In a few weeks, I'll get a standalone module that supports 3G and 4G, but it's way more expensive (probably around $80)

Good Morning bhaya...... I have a project, Am work a one small company. I need GSM Module board with 12Relays. We have to Control this with mobile. 1st Relay-----Generator start Relay 10sec need to close. 2nd Relay------Generator Off Relay 10sec need to close 3rd Relay-----Generator suplay on need close our timings. And remaining Relays 4th Relay----- If 230v Mains Fail we have to get Message/Mains Fail Alaram, if Mains Power Available / Mains Power Restored. 5th Relay------If 230v Generator ON we have to get DG ON Message, If DG Stop / DG Stop message. 6th Relay------If 230v Load suplay Available we have to get Power Issue clear message, If Load suplay not available we have to get Power Issue. Is this possible
