I knew mike when he was 5 years old. His dad was my football coach in high school. Mike would be out there NAILING rocks with a bat and his form when he swung, even that young, was perfection!! Anyone who ever saw him play, when he was younger, knew that he was gong to go pro. Plus, this kid is one of the most generous and gracious human beings on the planet. Just an all around great guy and someone you are happy to see succeed. His dad is pretty cool too.... thanks for giving the world Mike coach Trout!

It’s easy to hate on A-rod for plenty of reasons, but the dude is kind of a baseball savant. The one thing he is genuine about is his love for baseball...funny that trout doesn’t seem particularly cerebral or unorthodox with his approach-he just does it better than anyone else
@SilentWayFarer1
@SilentWayFarer1 5 років тому
drizzle I think his work ethic was genuine too. He used PEDs, but he also worked his ass off getting to where he got. Without PEDs he might not have gotten the 696 HR, but I think he still would have been a great player. As a former die-hard Yankee fan, I hated his arrogance, lies, attitude, awkwardness. But I appreciated his skills as a player - as a SS, 3rd baseman, as a hitter who made hits to win the game rather than just trying to go for the long ball at every at-bat

@@randomname3715 Not excusing it but he probably did it for the same reasons Bonds did, because they were naturally gifted and great players watching inferior players get notoriety and big contracts due to using performance enhancing drugs. Imagine how insulting it was to Bonds, possibly one if the best players ever, to be left OFF the All-Century Team, while Mark McGwire gets put on the team because of his home run numbers which were artificially inflated? A-Rod was foolish because he was already thought of as an absolute star, he hit .358 as a 20 year old kid, so maybe he just wanted to live up to expectations and was insecure about whether or not he could. But even so, in my opinion, it was probably just a "this guy isn't much better than me and he's cheating, imagine if I did what he is doing."

LongSnappersLivesMatter wow you’re a dumbass. Lebron is on Espn because he gets good ratings for them. The nba doesn’t have to promote Lebron because the nba has generated a much larger audience over the years and has taken over social media. The mlb does have to promote him and their league. They’re soon to be the 4th most popular sport if they don’t figure it out. Football basketball and now even hockey is ahead of them and in a few years soccer will pass them up
@2299mikey
@2299mikey 5 років тому
Martin Fernandez actually by virtually every measurable the nba is not far from the mlb and the mlb is significantly down across the board. Mlb has been struggling for years to keep viewers around. And by the way I love your extremely ignorant view of nba audiences. The nba audience isn’t a bunch of gangsters and millennials like you seem to want it to be. Mlb is struggling mightily right now. Their attendance is the lowest it’s been in 15 years and is down over 6% compared to last year meanwhile the nba has consistently kept attendance where it’s been. It’s clear you want this to so badly be a millennials ruining our past time argument but it’s simple the nba on literally every platform dominates the rest of the sporting world. There main instagram account has more followers than every mlb team combined. And no again you were wrong on trump the polls were off because there was a clear bias in the way they took those polls. At the time it was considered bad to say you were voting for trump which lead to many people declining to do so for polls. When that bias was factored in the polls had it right that he would win. Baseball in no way dominates the nba just forget that dumbass shit. The nba has closed the gap on baseball, is the healthiest sport in the country, and has actually built an audience that will be alive in more than 15 years unlike the mlb. In fact baseball is about half as popular for people between the age of 18-54 and this supposed liberal millennial sport has more support from conservatives and moderates compared to baseball. So in conclusion baseball has been passed in popularity by the nba, the nba controls the 18-54 demo, it has just as much influence with conservative and moderates, has the same following of men, has 50% more backing from females, and just to really show you were baseball is it’s behind soccer by a significant margin in the 18-54 demographic as well. So I think it’s time you take a second look at your take on the nba
@2299mikey
@2299mikey 5 років тому

I met Jeff in March of 1970. His older brother was teaching him how to play run down on an empty corner lot across from where he lived off 9th street. I was the runner; and he’s still my favorite player. What made him a great hitter: he would foul everything off from both sides of the plate. All the T-bolts love you Mike! We knew before you were born how good you could be. Thank you Jeff and mom!

Trout is an extremely smart baseball player who just has trouble verbally explaining his training. When you're THAT good and most things come so naturally sometimes you just really can't explain it. It's the same with every interview he has, I can tell he is trying to put what he does into words but he has so much going on in his brain he ends up stuttering and using filler words.

I watched all of Arods career. He was so great. I think he is hall of fame worthy despite the incidents... I still can't figure out if he was better as a player or a commentator now. He's so good at talking baseball.

G.O.A.T's????? Man whats wrong with u f'n people????? They r non-natural players. PED's is their reason 4 performing. Performance enhanced drugs. They both got BUSTED!!!! But of course baseball like most of everything in America awards them instead of penalizing them . America was built on lie's n baseball is just one of its fruit from the poison tree.

Mike Trout is a once in a lifetime player. Like Joe DiMaggio reincarnated. Just the perfect package of speed, contact, power and defense, with a humble and positive personality. Guys like Bryce Haper and Manny Machado will never be on this kid's level.

Trout is an awesome hitter who stays inside the ball as his approach. He hits down thru the baseball with the high tee drill which is the tough ball to handle but then can drop the head and react on that ball down and in. Text book great hitter with that approach!

We need to be grateful that we have the opportunity to watch legends speak in detail on the art of their craft, because the youngsters to come who truly love the game of baseball now have access to the best of the best information possible. The game will grow undoubtedly, just give it time. You didn’t have interviews that gave such rich information open to the public like this back in the day.

Two guys that can feed a million people! Lot of cash in that room. Gotta respect Trout...dude can LITERALLY have any female desired...every other night (break to rest)...and he focused on one woman! He's young, so was A-Rod...money and fame at this level changes ideals. Easily one of the most centered superstars on the planet...has to be called effective parenting. secure relationship with dad...yes, dad's matter! Few can comprehend the pressure Trout could feel if he thought about it...franchise player, best ever, everyone wants something from him, envy & jealousy from teammates, on & on...you don't learn that between the lines!
