Some people (scouts) see Haskins 2.0. Problem is, he's not. He's better because he has that killer drive "intangible" that Haskins never had. Haskins relied on that sweet sweet arm strength only, ala JaMarcus Russell. Fields is smart with the football, high motor, motivated to win, great arm, and can follow through on multiple reads if they actually watch the tape. He's going to be a monster for someone.

when Chris Simms did his QB Rankings, he stated that Fields was raw and had trouble reading coverages. you see how well Dwayne Haskins did in that Ohio State system and then what happened when he got to the NFL. that doesn’t bode well for Fields.

@@packers12to80 the jets the jags are in the same position as the browns were 5 years ago. It take good drafting, shrewd trade negotiations, and player development. John Dorsey got canned by the browns and a year later they were reaping the benefits of what he did. I see a high ceiling for Fields, I'm not seeing what you detractors are seeing. Even Kyle Shanahan's qb coaching website has the kid on the homepage. I'm sure he's had alot of players come through there , but Fields is the only one featured. They obviously see something that us casuals don't.

I see Fields as the next Russell Wilson. The only problem I have with Fields is him not getting the ball out fast enough, but that's coachable and comes with more experience. I still think Falcons is the most ideal place for him because he can learn from a solid veteran and doesn't have to start right away.

I'll say this bout Jones, the kid has ball smarts on elite level, ran a pro style offense and his throws to the NFL talent was incredibly accurate. He may not be fast but the skill he has fits him in as a smart choice. That's just in his defense I can't trash fields either tho but maybe they are worried about his ability after a few years in the league.

@@aaronl1818 The Haskins factor plays a role, but so does being a black QB, as well as OSU's history of not having great QB's come into the league. Scouts take a very nuanced approach to who they draft and I would bet a million dollars that Justin's upbringing in GA is playing a role in why guys like Wilson are being thought of ahead of him. No team will admit this being a factor, because it generally will point to race, but it's a reality when you're talking about nitpicking a person you're about to pay millions of dollars to invest in.

Still here. Haskins Haskins went to a team whose coaches didn't want him. Coming out of college, the uproar was reasonable seeing the college careers of Jones vs Haskins. Plus, the jury is still our on both of them. You act like 10 years has went by. The real difference is that Jones plays for a team who wanted him and who built a system for him. Haskins got a hostile coaching staff, a trash line, and the blame for losses in games he actually played well. Put any qb in that situation and they will fail.

I love what Justin fields has to offer and he has a ton of potential. Probably the second best ceiling in the draft. But he needs to fix some fundamentals and his mechanics and then he will be fine. I think the decision making is fine but that could be improved as well. He just needs to go to a team that doesn't start him first year.

1. Trevor Lawrence is locked at 1 2.Everyone liked what they see from Zach Wilson so his stock went up. 3. Mac Jones is the type of qb everyone pairs up with kyle shannonhan. How can you define "falling" as going from maybe being the #2 pick to being possibly the #3 pick (49ers) , maybe the #4 pick (Falcons), or have someone trade up and grab him. Not like he is going to be like Aaron Rogers or Lamar Jackson, sitting there waiting. Not this year with all the needy teams. Besides, in most cases, as far as getting on a better team, it's better to drop. You dont get as much money on a rookie contract but your chances of succeeding are higher if you "fall" to a better team and then get a chance to pick up a big contract.
