I was personally not the biggest fan of Finland's song but winning the public vote so overwhelmingly and still coming in second is absurd. It's ridiculous that 5 jury members from each country should have as much power to pick the winner as millions of fans. Loreen winning without a single 12 points from the fans is not a good look for the Eurovision.

As a Spanish person who loved Blanca's performance, this year was hard to watch.

I love how excited Voyager looked after getting 21 points. I love them (we also traditionally don't get a lot of points from the viewers vote so we were all ecstatic back here in Australia to get into double digits). And as they said - they are independent pro-rock, Synth metal band from Perth (we've never sent a band, rock music or anyone from Perth before) and they finished ninth at Eurovision!! But still they won their semi and it was all viewer votes so we have hope for the future if SBS chooses to stay in the competition.

Public voting should count for more. Also no repeat winners. Not only did Loreen win once before already, but curious that ABBA's win 50 year anniversary is next year (or was this one? jury votes are always horrible but televotes this year were so disappointing too. i get that a lot of people sacrifaces their other favourities for finland so it hurts only more that he didn't win.

the jury agree the votes between themselves in different countries (not all) thats why most of them voted the same way, this isnt a jury but a group to push the commercial music companies that hold the artits they voted for. And this was done on purpose so that ABBA and Eurovision could celebrate 50 years next year so convenient a jury pushing something to happen to please a music group instead of doing their job in the most neutral possible way

Hosts not interviewing Finland at green room despite being in the lead at one point, swedish songwriters always writing songs for other artists. Juries are made of record executives with money and connections to those hit factories. And why was 4th placed Cornelia there instead of 3rd place CHANEL from last year? Why Måns again? Even the ESC boss Osterdahl is Swedish! Even the blindest ones can see what's going on here. Swedish oversaturation is off the roof. And the public is tired to swedevision, hearing same songs all over again.

Last year I understood the scoreboard placements even if my personal tastes diverged at times (I wished France and Lithuania did better but I thought we had a really strong top 5), but this year just doesn't make a lick of sense. Cut out 12 kind points from Ukraine and migrants and its only 41, not 81. If Polish people abroad would vote for what they like, not for whatever shit we sent, maybe then other countries would get more public votes.

I am okay with the outcome of the contest, I personally believe Loreen deserved to win. But seeing all those other songs get so little points for being great songs was rather sad to see. Even seeing Käärijä not winning and his reaction afterward made me have sympathy for him even though I initially didn't really like his song (the more I listen to it, the better it becomes).

I'm still salty about this year. Not because I'm finnish and Käärijä didn't win but because Sweden won with an average pop song when there was a lot better songs competing. Some of the participants got absolutely robbed, I was shocked for Czechia, Portugal and France results.

I think this year was very strong, lots of good and catchy songs, i actually danced the whole night. But the voting... I felt sick and i died inside. So many songs deserved much, much more points. Interesting, creative, smart and unique songs. It's such a shame, and the worst thing is that the artists went home sad, when actually they were worth much more than what they got. The best year with the worst, most notunderstandable results.

This year's contest was the biggest robbery in Eurovision history. Käärijä deserved the world. Australia, Serbia, Czechia, Germany, Moldova and Estonia also were treated unfairly.

The most painful ones are probably Czechia, Austria and Finland. You can be mad at anyone, but both juries and audience had blunders with their voting. And thus winners wasn't the best, just least original and least offensive.

3:20 is like whole of Finland after Sweden's televote points were announced! 😡🤬🤬 As normally, those televote points would of course have made Sweden 2nd at best, and we the winners, but since juries didn't vote normally and distribute their points to all the deserving entries, this was the unfair result :(

Even as a Finn who would've liked us to win for once (this was the first time our own entry was genuinely my favorite), it still needs to be said how unfair last year was to all of the other participants besides Loreen and Käärijä - with the contest turning so polarized, they realistically never had a chance at all and still they had to go through it all likely knowing that as well. The juries literally handing the trophy to Loreen with a score that was practically impossible to beat by televote on a year filled with so many other diverse and high-quality acts feels like a big middle finger to everyone who was there, not just Käärijä. And speaking of Käärijä... even though he kept saying in the interviews he didn't feel pressure (or "press", in his words 😂), his reaction in the end kind of revealed that wasn't true at all. He was pretty much forced into a position where everyone who didn't want Loreen to win had their eyes on him, and that must have been incredibly stressful for him. It was sad how afterwards he felt like he needed to apologize for not winning, and how he talked about feeling like he let a lot of people down and disappointed them by coming second. It was really clear from everything Käärijä said in the Finnish media during and after the contest that even with all the positives, the Eurovision experience was really unexpectedly overwhelming for him - he wasn't expecting the insane amount of attention and hype he ended up getting at all and he talked afterwards how he would need a lot of time to process it (and therapy) to keep it from messing up his mental health. I remember seeing people shame him for feeling so openly nervous and emotional on the screen during the points announcement, but it was a unique situation where the entire arena was loudly chanting for his name and song, even though his loss seemed already inevitable - I feel like being put into that kind of situation with cameras in your face would make pretty much anyone lose composure, especially such an unexperienced artist. I feel like one must be pretty heartless to not feel for him in that moment, tbh. Honestly... months later and with a much cooler head than in last May, I'm still of the mind that the jury system has lost any credibility it may have still had HARD by showing how conservative and out of touch with the public their opinions are. At this point it's clear that despite all the talk of 2000s block voting and "credibility", the jury is at the heart all about upholding a certain cultural hegemony - it exists to essentially discourage creative and modern approaches to music, and it basically punishes showcasing languages and cultural expressions that don't conform to conventional Western European views on what's sophisticated. We can see time and time again that the jury favors the same kind of ballad and pop songs sung in a handful of languages - mostly English, French and Italian. Even though the contest is supposedly meant to unite a wide variety of countries and cultures across Europe and more, the jury that decides half of the score seems to exist to only elevate songs that conform to a narrow and western-centric cultural standard of good music and taste. How is that fair? It basically means a lot of the participating countries have less or no chance of winning by bringing their own genuine selves, culture and language into the contest. It sets some countries inherently at disadvantage compared to others. "United by Music" in the current system pretty much seems to mean all of us European cultures should conform to the same standard to have a realistic chance of winning, since winners must usually get the support of both the jury and televote. Also, to ensure more fairness under the jury system, banning previous winners from entering ESC again would not be a bad idea at all because as we saw in 2023, that has a real chance of souring the competition part for all the other acts that year who also worked just as hard and gave it everything they got, but didn't have the fame, name recognition or established industry connections that the returning winner has. In a televote-only contest it would be more justified since a second win would require getting the majority of the audience behind your act - but unlike the audience who has to pay to vote, a professional jury consisting entirely of industry insiders and radio/musical professionals who only deal with certain mainstream genres sadly can't be trusted to be impartial and unbiased in that situation. If you won Eurovision once you have already had your moment anyway, you don't need another one.

At this point voting should be on the internet for free. Televoting is such outdated thing
