I feel exactly the same way, this song plays on the radio here in Germany a lot and I always have to cry. And it's Germany's best esc result in ages!

I watched the national final with my grandparents that year. Before the performances even started all participants were standing next to each other, when my grandpa drops the comment "this guy will win" as the camera passed Michael. :)

Rewatching this today. 2018 was one of the Best Eurovisions ever. Amazing musical diversity and the lack of LED s was a smart choice because each act has amazing lightning work done which make it super dynamic. Seeing the rehearsals from 2021 and we all see the same safe stuff from everybody 🤷♂️

Thank you everyone who voted to my country, Hungary! We showed to Europe that a metalcore band could be in the final. :) And thank you Ukraine for sending Melovin, who became one of my favorite singers in the last two months, and what the jury has done with him is a huge crime... :(

Hungary was soo good! When I hear the hungarian entrie for the first time, I was happy and so glad! One of my favourites of the first time this year like Ukraine! These two was so underrated, they deserve it better! Well done Hungary. Greetings from Germany!

The biggest respect for Cezar who wanted to congratulate Netta and she ignored him, awful behave of Netta's bodyguard as well. Portugal - the best postcards ever in the Eurovision history.

Unfortunately he was a victim of the Running Order. Even though the public would be affected by the Running Order more than the Jury and the public placed him 7th, I think this time even the juries were affected by it.

Unpopular opinion, I know, but he definitely wasn't one of the better singers in this final. The performance itself was pretty good, his vampire theme fitting and original, but his voice itself wasn't super impressive - at least not in this song. That's why the professional jury didn't like him very much. Also, Melovin's target audience is very specifically and clearly (younger) women, meaning not everyone's going to vote for him.
