That's a great thing actually. Last year brits were complaining for the 0 points but the song Embers was nothing special and the performance was dull. Sam, first with his personality and social media following, already had key points in his hands. The proof that the UK could rock the show if they just put more effort into it

I wish more contestants would sing in their native language, that would make Eurovision much more unique and interesting. EDIT: I see that a lot of people say that if this were to happen, it would reduce the chances of said participants of being voted because people wouldn't understand the lyrics of their songs. Personally, I disagree, but keep in mind that this is coming from someone that judges a song not by the 'message', but by how that song makes me feel. If a song makes my hair stand up, makes me start sweating, make me close my eyes and shake my head and/or makes me wanna move to the rhythm, that's how I can tell that's a good song.

As a Asian living on the other side of the planet, those songs with traditional instruments / non-English lyrics / unique styles are still going to stand out. In other words, I would not even have noticed UK, Spain or Norway, and Moldova and Ukraine will stand out. So Ukraine might still win. ;)

maybe it's because i can speak portuguese, but Portugal's entry "Saudade, Saudade" was by far the most beautiful song in the contest. very meaningful lyrics, and there really is no proper translation for "saudade" as the portuguese define it. amazing performance. Deus abençoe.

While Moldova didn't get many points from jury, the amount of points they've received from viewers can't be understated, and clearly shows something. Simply brilliant performance sparking a fire in souls of many fans out there. Huge love from Ukraine

Apparently Moldova should have got 12 points from Romania, they were cut off and their 12 points went to Ukraine

In reality they got many points but EBU didn’t like the voting be auseMoldova was coming strong and making impossible for Ukraine to win. Hence they modified the votes given by 6 countries and splitting the 12p between Ukraine and UK, while the real votes of the jury were giving many points to Moldova 🇲🇩. This is the ugly truth that nobody wants to recognize on EBU!

Honestly shoutout to Moldova!! making the grandfinal was already a good surprise , but getting the 2nd most televotes, and placing 7th overall is incredible. As well having to perform right before Sweden and other powerhouses is what makes it so much better. Shame the jury didn’t appreciate it tho

Eurovision used to be about presenting every country that's performing, sharing culture and getting to know those other countries little by little, showing off our diversity and beauty, so the videos would be showing all the performers countries destinations... this changed when Israel hosted Eurovision and decided, screw the other countries, this will all be a tourist advertisement for Israel.. and since then, Italy did it as well now. I find it selfish, inconsiderate and out of line of what Eurovision was supposed to be. Yes, Italy is beautiful, but just like Israel, this is stealing the other performers limelight and representation of their nation.

As a British millennial let me tell you, I was sobbing seeing my country at the top of the leaderboard for the first time in my consciousness (I don’t remember ‘97). I love Eurovision so much and I was so so happy to see us finally taking the competition seriously after years and years of not really trying to meet the standards the other countries were working so hard for. The attitude towards the contest has been so poor, so unfairly mocking despite the huge improvement from the days when it was seen as fairly cheesy. It did at the time but it no longer matters to me that we didn’t win, Ukraine was a very deserving winner (and also we were able to host in the end on their behalf which was wonderful although under very awful circumstances), but what an incredible moment. I am so proud and I hope this continues, I’m thrilled this year that we have put an artist in our own music charts forward and hope Olly can do us proud!

Infatti, per evitare il ripetersi del linciaggio mediatico che c'è stato a Torino sulle problematiche che si sono verificate durante le prove, hanno pensato ora di vietare l'ingresso alla stampa, almeno alla prima.....avrebbero dovuto farlo da tempo! Una cosa a parte è la storia del " broken sun", che poi rotto non era, che ci ha portato enormi critiche. Comunque ho letto parecchie lamentele sull'esiguo numero di biglietti messi in vendita per l'ESC del 2023 dovuto al fatto che la capienza del palazzetto di Liverpool è limitata, e anche il palco per l'esibizione viene considerato troppo piccolo per l'importanza della manifestazione. Come vedi, nessuno è esente da critiche.

per onor di cronaca, va detto che il discorso del "sole rotto" è stato un bell'errore, come dicono gli inglesi un fail. Dovevano montarlo in anticipo in un capannone, provarlo in funzione e poi rimontarlo definitivamente al PalaOlimpico, visto che era così ambizioso. Bene (grazie al direttore della fotografia che ha fatto i miracoli per illuminare la parte "buia"), non benissimo sicuramente, ma è una lezione sicuramente per futuri Eurovision da fare in Italia. La Svezia (o penso all'Olanda che ha avuto 2 anni per fare tutto al meglio!) e altri Paesi ospitano molto di frequente e, quindi, hanno tanta esperienza sulle spalle. La Rai era la prima volta di un Eurovision "moderno" dopo l'orrendo 1991 a Cinecittà. Diamogli tempo, faremo edizioni migliori.

to be honest, i don't think any eurovision contest is ever going to top this one. i honestly loved almost all songs in the final, and there were so many good ones in the semi-finals too. i had a lot of fun last may and i will never forget how amazingly italy hosted it.

I love it when countries sing in their own language instead of English. In Serbia you don't hear that often a song in Dutch for example. That way you get a chance to experience and explore some other cultures around the continent. That is what Eurovision is all about. Having fun and learning something about each others.

Reviviendo ahora mismo eurovision 2022, voy a llorar, czetch Republic, Spain con Chanel, Romanía, Armenia, Italia, es que maravilloso show, la pena que no ganara españa, la mejor actuación de españa en décadas, un escenario muy bonito, la verdad, una muy buena edición

Non voglio sembrare patriottico ma per me questa è stata l'edizione migliore di sempre del Eurovision, ci sono delle coleografie sia a livello di luci che di balli pazzesche, il palco è qualcosa che penso sia ancora oggi inarrivabile, l'inghilterra ci si è avvicinata a Liverpool ma ancora rimane l'edizione migliore per me quella del 2022, ci sono state tantissime canzoni, più di qualsiasi altra edizione, il palco era qualcosa di fenomenale io rimango della mia idea, e poi la vittoria del Ucraina sarà una emozione irripetibile

Il palco con la cascata d' acqua é il piú originale e bello della storia di Eurovision. Di sicuro, non anonimo. Luci bellissime. E i presentatori italiani i piú empatici e caldi di sempre. Si sono mai visti presentatori non italiani tenersi per mano, scherzare e ridere, abbracciarsi? Mai visto. Tutti rigidi e freddi, a leggere correttamente il gobbo elettronico e stop.

It was obvious from the crowd's chanting that they'd win that much from the public. I voted for them, France and Ukraine. Was disappointed to see France ranking so low..💔 But happy when Moldova and Ukraine rose abruptly.. ❤️

Moldova, Serbia and Ukraine were public favourites long before the finals and were trending on social media with high views, so it was hardly surprising their public votes propelled them up regardless of the jury votes.
