The princess Kate Middleton, who is married to Britain’s Prince William, appeared in a pre-recorded clip playing an instrumental version of Kalush Orchestra’s winning song “Stefania” on the piano, which she recorded in the Crimson Drawing Room of Windsor Castle earlier this month. The clip was part of a montage of different artists - including Lloyd-Webber and Ms Banks - who performed a version of the song alongside Kalush Orchestra themselves. Also featuring in the line-up were last year’s runner-up Sam Ryder, Ballet Black, Bolt Strings, and Joss Stone.

This opening was so amazing. All the artists participating and the great adaptation, the choreography and general awesomeness 🤩

A royal spectacular. It blew my mind when our new Princess of Wales played piano. And the public vote changed everything. Best year ever, along with 2022, #1 Ukraine, #2 UK. I was hoping for #1 UK, #2 Ukraine, but the best song won? Probably. I was betting on Sweden for days, should have put money on them. Still coming down from it 90 minutes later. As usual, UK/BBC showed the world how to put on a grand spectacular event, like we do with royalty.
