Aaron Gordon's dunk is the greatest dunk of all time, but man, Vince Carter's and MJ's dunks with the crowd pop, makes it all the more memorable to me.

80's and 90's, someone does a regular dunk just with emphasis: OMG that's a 50. Nowadays someone does a triple salchow while making a hot dog in mid air and then completes a 360 windmill dunk: Man, I wish the dunk contest was like the old days.

As an old guy, I have seen nearly all of these dunk contests in the years that they were done. I have to say the 1988 Jordan vs Domonique was the most entertaining as it went back and forth and you really didn't know who was going to win. The Vince Carter dunks were the most exciting as the dunk contest was getting boring/routine in the previous years and he re-vitalized it with original dunks. As for the "best" and coolest dunks, I actually think they were done by Aaron Gordon, still cant believe he never won!?!

All judges should be required to watch this before the Dunk Contest, so they know what a 50 looks like. I like how pure most of the dunks were, with no props or extra people. They could improvise in the air. It was about power, grace, difficulty, and style
