It was experimental since no one had HD tvs yet (not even 720p). Notice how it looks a lot better than other clips even up to 2003 or so. It wasn't all-HD until 2005. And this was recorded in 2000. Consumer HDTVs weren't around until 2001-2002, and there wasn't really any HD content on TV until around 2003.
