The term world class has been over used and abused. You cant count the truly amount of "World class" players in all of Europes main leagues on one hand comfortably. Jota might one day be world class, but can not be considered that yet. Most players can not.

It depends on when the players leave for the tournament - apparently Liverpool are trying to negotiate with the national teams, but the national teams don't have to go along with Liverpool's wishes, annoyingly. FIFA says the players are supposed to leave something like 10 or more days before the competition starts, but maybe there'll be a compromise. Also, I think it's the case that if any of Salah, Mane or Keita make it as far as the final, they could miss as many as 8 games - 6 league, 2 FA cup. Of course, only two of them max could get that far, but it wouldn't be surprising if at least one gets to the final, or semis or whatever. I find myself thinking, 'hopefully Egypt are knocked out quickly!' but that's kinda lame, as I'm sure Salah would love to win something with his country... What a mess having an international tournament directly clashing with the domestic leagues of the teams those same players earn their living playing in.

@Liverpool Era According to the Athletic, the Liverpool AFCON players *could* miss Leeds, Leicester, Chelsea, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Leicester again, as well as two cup games. Missing the second Leicester game is very unlikely and depends on the player making the final and not getting back right away. If the national sides let the players arrive late, they could be available for Leeds, Leicester and Chelsea. It's also possible that Senegal could let Mane and Chelsea's keeper Mendy hang around for the Liverpool-Chelsea game, but Egypt and Guinea won't let Salah and Keita stay that long, which'd be great for Chelsea and would suck for Liverpool. Again, the AFCON's a legitimate tournament and I want it all go to well (especially, ideally, for Liverpool's players), but it's so goofy and unprofessional to have it take place in the European winter - the exact worst possible time for the clubs *and* the players themselves. Dopey to effectively force the likes of Salah, Mane, Mendy and loads more miss out on helping their clubs succeed so they can try help their national side do the same. But then, international football especially is full of dopiness (and worse - like the Qatari World Cup) so I doubt anyone's surprised.
