The thing with the Sopranos is kind of weird, because they did point out in the show, that Tony was visiting Dr. Melfi in secrecy, and he did not want anyone to ever find out, for exactly the reason mentioned. I would love to see him react to scenes from the Italian mob series "Gomorrah". It's about the Italian Camorra in Naples and not the American Italian mob, but I've seen him react to scenes from Yakuza games before. So it would be interesting to hear his take on the series and the differences between the Italian and American Mafia. Because the series gets a lot of praise for the realism. Most events from season 1 are actually based on events from the real world.

The Sopranos brings up the idea of the dangers posed to a mob boss for seeing a psych. It's a major plot point and contributes to tony almost getting whacked. And tony's ascension to boss *is* due to circumstance. His dad was the boss, he gets some good nepotism in that regard, and the actual boss of the family that's in the hospital for cancer dies while he's acting boss, making him boss. Things just turned out in his favor. Even then, tony's strong attachment to "following in his father's footsteps" is one of the issues that plagues him throughout the show. Hell the focus on the show is about Tony's problem with ego chasing and trying to be a good person. Mob boss with daddy issues, really.

A .45 ACP actually makes a lot of sense for use with a suppressor. The standard ammo is already subsonic, and it's a big heavy bullet, so it's gonna be much quieter than something like a 9×19mm Parabellum with standard ammo, which tends to be supersonic and will create a supersonic crack. .45 ACP basically achieves comparable muzzle energy to a lot of common 9mm loads (around 500 joules) without breaking the sound barrier. So it's a good choice for use with a suppressor. Or if you cannot use expanding projectiles like hollow points for whatever reason. It's that "echo" or snap you'll typically hear after a rifle has been fired. Same thing applies to several handgun calibers and ammo types. As long as the bullet achieves a velocity that is faster than the speed of sound, you're gonna get a sonic boom, and a even with a suppressor the gunshot will be audible. Indoors a sonic boom can even be enough to cause hearing damage, even if you use a suppressor. Also depends on what you're shooting with and the suppressor you're using.
