Khabib was getting tired after all his punches weren't doing anything, but Conor was just as tired. When fighters are tired they grapple, but unfortunately for Conor that's the last thing he should do since he's a fish out of water there. Literally was like 2 whole minutes where Khabib just held on as tight as he could in the first round, where it probably sound have been stood up. Conor heavily underestimated Khabib's punching speed, or was just nervous. But his punches didn't do anything, they just conor off by surprise. Not mauled just hugged, and there's no Shane in that.
