Wil the ai work with the 8a ? As it isn't supported on the regular 8 right?

The A series was supposed to be a cheap phone but with great photo capabilities and smooth & clean UI. Anyone who wants wireless charging, fast charging and high refresh screens should get the regular Pixel, if not the pro. Adding all these things and increasing the cost of the A series is a stupid idea just to satisfy some techies (read fools)...

You are right. To be honest, the "longer software support" feature is a problem Google creates and "solves" itself. They could just choose to support their phones longer. I really liked my Pixel 3a XL a lot, and when they announced they would discontinue security updates, it essentially made the phone unusable.

I'm in that 'Niche'... Display port? So... USB C to HDMI/TV Out capabilities? FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINALLY!!!! I've been looking for a replacement for my aging Nvidia Shield K1 tablet that I use as a pure Android 'TV entertainment/general Android useability unit' (with connectability for a wireless keyboard/mouse & external storage etc) for a couple of reasons... 1 - Pure Android with no excessive bloatware like say... Samsung and their multiple Google cloned apps that AREN'T as good. 2 - PROPER Android (compared to Android TV) as I have tried on many different 'Android TV OS' boxes but CAN'T install and run 'Movie HD' app (a GREAT 'Go to' for Movies/TV series). 3 - Other use examples and OS/Security update rerasons (my K1 is stuck on Android 7 & 2Gb Ram lol) I WAS looking at buying a second hand Motorola phone with 'Ready For' capabilities (but OS/Security updates are questionable) or a second hand Samsung Galaxy that has the DeX feature, (but, again, the bloody useless Samsung bloatware you CAN'T fully uninstall), I EVEN thought about getting a Chromebook, but, yet again, Chrome OS has some limiting features like not being able to run some Apps I use regularly, and then there are the MANY makes/various 'Android TV boxes' out there, but most are questionable about their OS/Security updates AND that they're running Android TV OS AND their lack of specs 3Gb Ram etc... The Motorola/Lenovo 'ThinkPhone' was looking good for this too... 🤔 What with Google DENYING us this USB C to External display feature for many years (while some select manufacturers still allowed this), it's been FRICKIN ANNOYING, after all, WHAT IS A PHONE? A POWERFUL computer in your pocket, so, WHY NOT allow it to be connected to a multiport USB hub, link it to a large screen, keyboard, mouse and external storage when you get home like what Motorola & Samsung do??? Hmmm? 🤔 So.. The Pixel 8a... COULD BE... EXACTLY what I need... Fast/powerful SOC, possibly 8Gb Ram and fast UFS 3.1 storage, meaning, I'll have a MAHOOSIVE UPGRADE from my slow, slowly dying, old OS'd 2Gb RAM'd K1 Tablet... SWEET! 🤔😏👍... IF... IF it's true about the 'Display Port' functionality... 🤔 😎🇬🇧

Why would the 8a be an upgrade over the 8? I think the thumbnail means over the 7a.

But if u compare Tensor vs Exynos, Tensor is sooo much better. It has so much better software processing for photos, most of the AI stuff works seem less. Yeah It has some flaws too.

i agree , raw Exynos it's still behind like a sd 8+gen1 with tensor g3 , 100% tensor g4 will get the slightly modified Exynos 2400 from s24 , the main difference it's in software and also it's basead ai capability not raw power, if it was more efficient then yea but here it's Samsung issue not Google and until 2025 they have contract with Samsung

​@@---nv4fz I'd assume slow software after a short while. Pixels aren't very well optimized so they are fast in the beginning and then get worse fast. I hope Google are better at it nowadays, because nobody else has the problem

hmmmm.. had my Pixel 7 for almost a year, never experienced any slow down. it recently broke in a motorcycle accident tho. so I'll never know how it'd have aged.

Maybe nowadays, but in the past I had 3 Samsungs that slowed right down after a couple of years, but my pixel 5 has stayed snappy. Inconsistent experiences I guess.
