One of the dividing lines I’ve noticed between people who love the game and those who don’t is that factor of death, especially the loss of a parent. Yes, out of context it could seem weird for this young woman to be sniffing a dead man’s coat. Those of us who know... know. It was so natural and real. My family had a teddy bear made out of the sweater my stepfather wore. It’s one of my most dear possessions.

after my dad died we didn't want to get rid of his clothing, hats, etc. because they still smelled like him.

people talk about how they ruined Joel this is what made me sob like a baby. He changed, so much so he is not only loved in jackson but he seems like a gentle old soul. In fact its his softness in his old age that leads to his death, this makes him nobler watch his last moments as he headshots an infected while protecting a young girl (abby) he scavenges and survives dies without begging and in his last moment looks at ellie with fragility and love. In his estrangement from his daughter he remains patient, takes up wood carving among other peacful hobbies, he has found some peace and knows Ellie can have a life theat was robbed from Sarah, he even lets her be her own person and is in the process of changing even that as he urges ellie to pursue Dina. Joel and ellie are honored in this game more than any other studio would or could of hey care not about money or a safe chracter choice but real actual fallout and the kind of love which is impossible to replace.

The Dream Capture yeah I agree, I loved Joel in Part II. I think people are overly critical of the game as a whole. I personally hated Abby’s section (found it boring and didn’t connect with her character at all) and wasn’t satisfied by the ending, but I really, REALLY love what they did to Ellie and Joel’s relationship in this. Imo everything in the game that chronologically happened before he died was perfect.

Archy Ashton but I still wouldn’t make sense to trust random strangers that he wouldn’t know. Joel knew that Jackson was a safe place and he had people that he trusted like tommie and his wife. Plus the fact that he was surrounded in a room with people who are armed with guns should be a red flag. @@suda_lifts what you dont get is that he trusted those strangers because Abby seemed friendly and was helping them kill the infected. Then Abby instead of shooting him on the spot which she had many chances too. She chose to take both Joel and Tommy to a safe place away from the blizzard and the community opened the gates and greeted them friendly enougj for Joel and Tommy to lower their Guards especially since the enemies were also introducing themselves. Other enemies in the first game didnt act friendly ar first, they went for the kill right away. These people were sneaky.

Pretty sure the things in that box are what were retrieved from his body after he died. The watch, his revolver, and the clothes he was wearing. So that would be his blood. If you look back at the scene where his daughter died, the shirt he's wearing isn't denim.

Plus what he did to the Fireflies. But we love him because we know his story. We did a lot of things with him. Got empathy for him when his Daughter died. Seeing he's a really good father. He had a lot of love to give. This second chapter shows the differents points of view. It is very weird for a video game, to play the "bad" person who killed the main hero. But it's like in real life. We're not all good or bad. Our acts have consequences. Here is a point of view. We know Joel. We love him because we can see his good size. But he is somewhere a kind of monster who needed to make hard choices. To survive. But also for its own person.it was so selfish to save Ellie somewhere. But hey, Joel is human. With feelings. Emotions make us vulnerable sometimes and make us do very bad choices. Irationnal choices. It's the same for Ellie and Abby. They've become monsters in a sort of way. RIP Joel. And poor Ellie who's ended up alone. Her worst fear. Sorry, my English is not so good. But I think it will be ok

We all saw it coming and it was foreshadowed masterfully when characters die in a Rockstar game.... TLOU2 took that NPC doctor way too seriously and gave him an unnecessary backstory which also included a steroided she hulk daughter that plays golf. TLOU2 didn't even attempt to extend Joel and Ellie's story it decided to extend the NPC doctor while destroying Joel and Ellie..... wtf

First the writer made him dumb by just openly calling his name and trust random people he never met while in the first game he was way more cautious and sees trough traps. If Joel's death was either bitter sweet or he did something in the story rahter than being dumb people would have accept it.
