I'm not a fan of that style though. Pickford had a fantastic day and your tactics rely on this. On most other days many Liverpool opportunities like the one of Salah goes in. Nah you have to look offensively for the goal and build up the game (something that Everton doesn't do so well - their defensive lines and midfield have a horrible communication, they almost can't bribg the ball forward and in 80% of the cases it ends up as a lame pass back under pressure or a long ball forward into nothing). Otherwise the goal of the opponent is just a matter of time and probability. You let yourself be bombed and do almost nothing to play forward well then you will be more often in the position to chase that goal after having conceided. Also when leading you ought to look for closing the case for good and not letting the opponent bomb your defense till it finally gets in.

@@Medellinish I agree with you, great assessment. But that's why we have to play this system until the team cohesion and passing is solidified. There were some very interesting and promising markers of playing this system in this game however. Coleman and Digne in the back not having to worry as much about defensive duties allows them to push forward when we do finally get the ball. Dom & Richie continuing to strengthen their relationship up top also adds a dangerous element to the attack. Dom literally comes on and ten minutes later we've got a penalty. They only need one or two chances to make something happen. Look at that tottenham game last week. Dom flicks it to Richie and he scores a banger. Carlo knows the weaknesses of his team, he has now taught them how to properly defend, they already know how to properly score, the final piece is how to properly apply attacking/possesion pressure. This will all come with time.
