He beat these guys on arguably the hardest track of the year, in a car not known for being nimble on twisty short tracks. 3/10ths is huge. One epic qualification lap. This is a tremendous season and I rather selfishly want Vettel to outscore Hamilton to keep the WDC alive. But, given that lap, who can begrudge the chap his brilliant pole. I thought I'd seen the best qually lap when Mansell put the Judd-engined Williams (whatever happened to that team?) into then second place against the turbo-charged likes of Ferrari. I think maybe I was wrong. Well done, Hamilton.

Lewis hamilton is just on another level..the greatest of this era and arguably might just be the greatest of all time. Its just his ability to come back from adversity. Its unbelievable. Even when you have him down its still not certain whether you have the win or not.

Mercs times in q1 was a 1:39.2 for Bottas and 1:39.3 for hamilton, and a 1.37.2 &1:37.3 in q2, to then get a 1:36.0 is q3 is unbelievable, he definitely outdrove that car, one of the all time great qualy laps, up there with Senna in Monaco 👌🏻
