@@jamesvile4530 that type of accident is worse in open-wheel cars because they're usually also open-cockpit, flying debris can potentially hit another driver. At least these cars can't erupt in a fireball from such a hit unlike cars like what they race in the Supercars Championship in Australia, as Karl Reindler can attest to in 2011.

This track is certainly dangerous, but that Enzo-Theo accident is certainly not track's fault, it can happen anywhere at the start line of any circuit.

The first crash and red flad wasn't cause the circuit I think. It's a nice track but need some adjustments. It's dangerous and formula racing is supposed to be a bit dangerous, this circuit is nothing compared to the Isle of Man for example and even like this Isle of Man is one of the most prestigious place for Motorsport racing in general.

@@bastianmaoro8278 the Isle of Man is not an FIA grade 1 circuit, comparing it to F1 tracks is wrong on so many levels.

@@bastianmaoro8278 it's not about the danger the track presents, I'm talking about the walls wich are so close to the track on most of the lap that a crashing car has no option but to be stranded in the way of other cars, wich results in having to resort to a red flag instead of a safety car because there's no possibility to drive past it. Obviously I'm not opposed to red flags in general, if the barriers are damaged or there's too much carnage on track, but having to go red where you could probably go with a SC on most other tracks is just ridiculous.

The crash cell really works wonders though ever since the mid-late 90s top level open wheel race cars are pretty survivable. That being said the human body can survive and withstand sudden high G-Force like that if it's for a fraction of a moment.

@@RockSolitude yeah the engineering that goes into F1 and lower formula crash safety is remarkable and the developments of the last few decades have doubtless saved many drivers

Tbf the crash at the start is not due to the track. It is due to the cars not being equipped with anti-stall

Agree, they should scrap that race for 2022 and go for Quiddiya in 2023.

My understanding is better facilities and better people they’ve hired to do set ups and all that stuff. In consequence they and a few others tend to get the better drivers.

Prema has been on top for this and last season but before that there has been many teams on top. Top teams have better staff and stuff like that so best drivers want to race with them so they also have best drivers.

@@Peachrocks5 When I asked about this matter on private message in the Facebook official page of both Russian Time and MP Motorsport when the competition name was still GP2, they told me that they could only have 12 + 4 crews in total and assume that remains to be the same for F2, I really don't think hiring better people would be any significant for it. The chassis and engine are the same but not for the upgrades and the price of each in general. So, I think that it's rather to be more the team development, as in, upgrades and facilities rather than the staff on itself, while drivers and car setup play the vital roles for the team. Apparently, the more expensive the chassis is, the easier it would be to get a better setup.

If you're referring to the lights coming out the back of the cars; I believe it's unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust and igniting in the tailpipe

the red lights behind the cars are rain lights that are always flashing so other drivers can see where the car in front is in the rain or dark

@@emoteman well yes...but normally they do show closeups and even slomos of catastrophic crashes (eg: Verstappen's car riding up on Lewis' car on Monza) it took me a while to find out who was involved on that crash and it was so weird that they didn't replay what happened during the red flag like they normally would on an F1 race.

Because that crash was much more serious and it takes time to get the information that both are alright.

He's seen a lot of them, and knows enough not to sensationalize them. Especially if they're bad ones.

Agreed, if theyre going to run unsafe tracks why not use Bathurst? Would be much better viewing and racing than what we saw.

F2 is not a world Championship

It only applies for world championships (F1, WEC, Karting, WRX and WRC)
