VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
The Barefoot Bandits are living the nomad dream in their school bus conversion. Jacq and her husband decided to ditch the traditional lifestyle and take life on the road. Her family came to the realization that money and things weren't what made them happy. It was their desire to spend time together and make memories beyond the concrete jungle that made their decision to live this lifestyle so easy. Jacq homeschools her children and has created a beautiful, handcrafted workspace for them to do the school work. One of the things she loves about homeschooling on the road is that she can teach her kids beyond a room with 4 walls and the outdoors is the perfect learning environment for her kids. There are so many unique things about their bus that we can't even begin to choose a favorite, but you have to check out their shower conversion and the extra 2 feet of headspace they created with her tall husband in mind. Not only is the shower unique in that way, but you have to see how awesome it looks from the exterior of the bus. Their need for adventure and going off the grid lead them to going fully solar on the bus. They have the ability to plug into power at campsites, if needed, but overall the solar panels meet their electricity needs. We absolutely love following this family and how they make traveling together look like the adventure of a lifetime. We can't wait to see where they go next!

I would do anything to be able to do this with my 2 kids. It’s just us. I wanna move out west and settle there. Making money on the road is not a possibility for me. And I’m a single mom, there’s no other income so I’m stuck. It’s my ultimate dream though.

I want either a short bus or a shuttle. I live in Oregon and it is absolutely beautiful here. So good choice on location. You are a very wise young woman. And your family is happy and content. May all your dreams come true for you. ☮️

What a wonderful family and your bus /home is beautiful. You are doing such a great job with your children by exposing them to life in the real world. The education they will receive will be priceless with soo many teachable moments. I think the notion that a classroom has to be within four walls is outdated especially with COVID you'd think so call educators would be exploring all types of alternatives outside the traditional classroom. Beautiful family in an awesome bus. First time I've seen a flat play area for the kids in a conversion. 300 gallons is a lot of water. Great job 👍🏻

I think I would have had the entry door swing the other way. If the latch were to let go in the current configuration, the wind will blow it open and tear it off. If it was hinged the other way, it won't come open as far. That is one reason why they quit putting "suicide" doors on cars.

Great catch. Even when parked, a wind storm could cause the glass to break if it throws the door open too hard. Maybe they can build a door that looks just as good, but folds inward......out of safety glass. The problem: some safety glass, like shower doors, can still break into large, dangerous shards, and even break spontaneously, per news stories.

I'm curious, did you raise the roof for more headroom? Someone mentioned on another video that there is a way to raise the roof that doesn't take any welding, because it's bolted instead. Much easier, and must be quicker!

Instead of adapting to the curve of the buss you adapt the buss to your needs... brilliant out of the box thinking. I have watched lots of conversions but being an engineer this feature impressed me very much.
