I’m not surprised that smash bros won so many awards, it was a really good game, and addicting. But I am quite mad that some of the greatest game were not even mentioned, xenoblade 2? That was the most beautiful graphics I’ve ever played in a game, along with Valkyrie Chronicles 4. What about the indies games that were produced this year. Countless had been released and none of them are featured? Smash is a great game but doesn’t deserve this many awards. Just some opinions honestly.

Also, congrats on one year of Nintendo Power podcast. I'm thrilled NP has been brought back in some form by somebody who was a key player during the brand's print run.

As a Pokemon fan, I can say, that honestly, super smash bros took me by storm. The amount of pure content poured into it is extraordinary. My winner would be super smash bros. We will just have to wait for gen 8 to see how Pokemon will come back.

@Nintendo, aside from the games that we already know about and is coming to Nintendo Switch likely in 2019 like Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, Gen 8 Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc, hopefully throughout 2019 Nintendo will surprise all of us with more brand new big unannounced 1st party and 3rd party games and other big surprises. 2017 was Nintendo's greatest year with big high quality games releasing each month. 2018 had its ups and downs but we got some great games like Octopath Traveler, Xenoblade 2 Torna, DKCTF, The Messenger, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Hyrule Warriors, etc etc. 2019 should be even better and Nintendo seriously needs to start listening to all gamers/fans and developers feedback and responses on what we want to see from them instead of just relying on their own ideas, no offense. In 2018, we have seen some 3rd party developers and even Sony and Microsoft begin reviving and remaking some of their classic franchises (Capcom with DMC5, Mega Man 11, and RE2R, SNK with Samurai Spirits, Bandai Namco with SC6, Activison with Spyro, Sony with GoW, Microsoft with the upcoming BattleToads, etc) and they have literally listened to the feedback. Nintendo has to and needs to be doing the same thing and not be holding back. They have so many IP's that deserve a comeback and there are some things that they need to improve on like Switch Online Service, voice chat, hardware features, etc. 2019 needs to be another great year. Here are the Nintendo franchises that need to make a comeback. -Golden Sun (Developed or Co-developed by MonolithSoft, Acquire, or Silicon Studio. In an HD-2D 16-bit/32-bit pixel art sprite style just like Octopath Traveler or in a full 3D 3rd Person seamlessly massive free roaming Open-World just like Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, and Dragon Quest 11, with the traditional Turn-based ATB gameplay formula, new characters, new stories, new features, etc) -F-Zero (Back to its futuristic racing roots like from the Super Nintendo and Gamecube game) -2D Wario Land -Kid Icarus (Gameplay similar to Kid Icarus Uprising but with better controls and further improved gameplay, new story/plot, more 4th wall breaking) -Excitebike -Fatal Frame (Atmospheric Survival-Horror, Sense of Isolation, Psychological Horror, Uncensored) -Duck Hunt Duo (A brand new full 3D 3rd Person non-linear free roaming Open-World sandbox exploration style Action-Adventure Platformer in the same vein as Super Mario Odyssey, Banjo-Kazooie, and Super Mario 64) -Paper Mario (Back to its original gameplay roots just like from the original Paper Mario and from The Thousand Year Door and even learn from the Mario and Luigi RPG series, very story driven, very authentic, challenging) -Mario & Luigi series (New stories/plots, Back to its original gameplay roots from the first game with more new features, more playable characters and more humor/banter) -New 2D Metroid (Metroid 5/Metroid Dread developed by either WayForward or MercurySteam, story takes place after the events of Metroid Fusion, Very atmospheric dark tone, since of isolation, dread, horror, and fear, massively huge, and non-linear, but very story-driven) -The Mysterious Murasame Castle (Developed by either Platinum Games or FromSoftware, A big full 3D 3rd Person Perspective Over-The-Top Stylish Samurai Action-Adventure game, Takamaru as the main protagonist, Single Player Only, very deep story driven, 60FPS, gameplay in the style of like Bayonetta and other Action games, Stealth gameplay elements/mechanics, Maybe in a large Open-World like Breath of the Wild and other Open World Action games, Inspired by real life Japan culture, learn from and borrow some ideas and inspiration from upcoming games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Ghost of Tsushima, make it feel authentic and organic)

Multiplayer games here! 4 players! Mom, Papa, grandpapa and grandmama, We all play Nintendo together! 4 controllers in Mario 3D, Mario Kart, so much much family fun! Grandmama, Papa and Mama play using the motion-controllers, only Grandpapa uses "classic controller". The motion control was the bless that allowed Grandmama to play!

@Nintendo, Many of us really do believe and think that it is time for you to begin thinking about reviving the Golden Sun franchise and consider developing a brand new game (Golden Sun 4) exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Looking at the worldwide success of Octopath Traveler (A Classic traditional turn-based JRPG in a similar vein as Final Fantasy 6), it goes to show you that gamers/fans (Myself Included) do want to see more high quality HD-2D traditional fantasy JRPG’s on Switch. The first 2 Golden Sun games on the Game Boy Advance were both amazing original classic JRPG’s and are still fun to play. The story, gameplay, characters, soundtrack, and the puzzles were all great. Gamers/fans have demanded for a return or revival of the franchise. If something like Fire Emblem (A Strategy RPG) can manage to be saved thanks to the success of Fire Emblem Awakening and can lead to numerous new FE games like Fates, Heroes, Warriors, and the upcoming Three Houses and become an important major IP for Nintendo, then Golden Sun should do the same somehow. A very, very good example about the huge fan demand for more Golden Sun games is from Smash Bros Ultimate with Issac returning as an Assist Trophy. Even though many of us were disappointed by the fact that Issac was once again not a playable fighter and due to those fake leaks, you CANNOT deny the fact that gamers DO know who Issac is and/or have played the Golden Sun games before. Whether that be from the Game Boy Advance or on the Wii U virtual console. The last Golden Sun game ever released was almost 9 years ago and it does seem like the right time to revive the franchise and to revive other Nintendo franchises/IP’s. However, since developer Camelot Software Planning has been making many Mario Sports games lately and who knows what the Takahashi brothers at Camelot are currently doing at all, many gamers/fans do think that maybe it is best that you should let another developer be the ones to develop or co-develop a brand new GS game. MonolithSoft seems like the best choice since they know how to develop high quality JRPG’s like Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Two other developers that would be great to see handle the Golden Sun series are either Acquire (Developers of Octopath Traveler) or Silicon Studio (Developers of Bravely Default and Bravely Second). Both have also developed great quality JRPG’s. Nintendo fans, RPG fans, and all gamers/fans in general want more JRPG’s on Switch and they have been selling phenomenally well on Switch. For a brand new Golden Sun game, these are the important things that Golden Sun 4 needs to have and should have. -An epic engaging fantasy story w/ plot twists and other surprises -HD-2D visuals/graphics and art style -Brain teasing and mind-blowing puzzles -Great gameplay and Turn-Based ATB battle system -Amazing dungeons -Epic boss battles -Great cast of characters -Amazing soundtrack -Beautiful and colorful diverse environments, towns, and over-world -Tons of replay value

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was considered to be a Players Choice, now Nintendo Selects, and winning 2018 Game of The Year proves my point. People were hyped to see Princess Daisy playable in a fighting game and it is a miracle to see it happen. Sorry Nintendo had to cut Daisy out from video games since Miyamoto got offended about Daisy's original design being a rip-off from Peach. That explains why Daisy became a forgotten 90's Nintendo mascot, but your company did a great job making Daisy different from Peach being the most cartoonish Super Mario character she was made to become. I give you a B for that. Daisy's original design may have been forgotten due to her unfortunate hiatus from video games, but her design was actually intended to make Daisy look like a cartoon character.
