I have to say a MASSIVE thank you to you, Sean. I mowed a lawn for the first time ever in my life today...! Sorry for the tale.... I have been watching your videos for the last few months, as I have a ridiculous fear or lawn mowers (I would avoid streets/cross roads if I saw someone was mowing). I found them absolutely terrifying. Watching you meant I could observe 'safely' and desensitise. I had to move back in with my mother at the beginning of the pandemic. She's a hoarder and the house was in quite a state..., and the yard was... well more a jungle than yard. Paid a lot to get the yard back to normal to a big company, and had been paying locals to manage it fortnightly or so from there. Then recently, my brother had moved to a new share-house, and needed to borrow mum's mower for the lawns every so often (yes, we had a mower, she wouldn't mow, I was too terrified- and was also cleaning/clearing out the house). Deal was, he'd mow ours, take it for a week or so, then bring it back. Unfortunately, he was unable to bring it back for around 6 weeks.... the jungle was back... With the rains in Sydney lately, even the most enviable lawn folk have been struggling...! I was shaking, and almost crying, but I filled the tank, primed it thrice (as per instructions) and then yanked that terrifying cord, and ....... it started, the blades didn't drop out and cut through my ankles. I went diagonally over the lawn, both ways, and then vertical. Multiple catchings dumped into a bag, and re-starts of mower. I could never have done this with my absolute TERROR of this shit before. So truly thank you, thank you, thank you

A brilliant disaster indeed of a garden, but what a darling of a find. Some one really got creative years past. The little alcoves of plants tucked here and their.... I can see a lady with gloves and brimed hat puttering about, in my minds eye. It literally looks like a time capsule left behind. Wow, you did a awesome job!

Carving out sides and bottoms of paths first was a really sensible move in this case. If the person has knee trouble, trying to wade through overgrowth wouldn't be safe. Your Whipper Snipper was a wonderful all-purpose tool for that yard. At 18:62, it was near-shock that you were in the same yard. Quite a change already. I hope the owner will be able to enjoy her patio again. You earned today's victory. :)

It's amazing what you can accomplish with all the "stuff" you have to continually move around in order to do your job. It takes even longer for you Australians to mow that tough, tough grass and to pick it all up. Here in Florida we have touch grass but nothing like what you have to deal with.
