All iconic races of Su, including all 10 of his sub-10 runs
Outdoor 60m Sprint World Record: 6.29
40 yard dash world record
13h Fastest 100m All-Time: 9.83
Asian Area Record Holder, Fastest Asian Sprinter (アジア タイ記録)
Interesting facts:
Speed= stride length * stride rate
Stride length is determined by ground force production, not neccesarily one's height or leg length.
Su's main obstacle to break 9.8 is not height but late phase speed maintenance (3 of the 4 fastest men currently in the world are under 5'9)
He ran a horrble last 40m in his 9.83 Olympic performance.
6.29 + 3.54 = 9.83
3.54 is what any average 10.3 runner is capable of.
Had Su been able to run as fast as he normally does in the last 40m, like 3.49 or even less, he would break it to 9.78.
Let him run!

I felt the same in 2004 when I saw Liu Xiang win Gold in 110m Hurdles and break the record and then later win World's and the World Record. China also currently has a younger 200m sprinter who has broken 20 second barrier and is on the top 25 all time list and could medal if he keeps going. Then there is the Citizen Runner from Japan who has like 100+ Sub 2:20 Marathons or some shit... He won the Boston Marathon 4 years ago in the most absurd weather near freezing temperatures

His technique is precision perfect. The movement and balance is surreal. You can see him when racing, most others look little wobbly. He looks almost digital. The sad part is his lack of continued acceleration to the end.

@Nebuchadnezzar_ll

His inability to be competitive in 100m is not about discontinued acceleration. It's about lack of explosive start among his rivals, which is compensated through the distance. In 60m his insane starting handicap is enough to win. In 100m it is not. You can clearly see the starting difference here: 2:32

Indoors this year is gonna be incredible. I know normally people don’t care too much about indoors, but in the 60 with Baker, Bromell, Coleman, Bingtian, and Jacobs, it’s gonna be the most competitive indoor championships ever (in the 60).
@Elliottklassen
@Elliottklassen 2 роки тому
@@henri.r94 You’ve got some good points there. It’ll be interesting to see if Su can get close to that outdoor split. Coleman, while obviously being the fastest of everyone, is still a big question mark. There is no guarantee that he’ll be back in his best form. Gatlin, ShaCarri, Linford Christie and many more athletes often need some time to find their best form after serving a ban. Myself personally took a whole season to get back to being close to my personal best after I lost a year due to injury (in the hurdles). Bromell is strange to me, because based on his 100m starts, I’m certain he can go much faster than his current 6.46. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 6.3 from him if he’s going for it. In any case, I think we can pretty much be certain that 6.47 won’t be fast enough for the world lead this indoor season. It’ll be fun to watch!

@@henri.r94 if someone is “allegedly” using PEDs and hence the missed tests and subsequent suspension…. What makes you think said person(s) can run the same speed clean? If that were the case, they’d never use PEDs in the 1st place. Just saying…..because back a few years ago when MLB players would get a 50 to 100 game suspension, baseball analysts often times made the “erroneous” assumption that the player would return at the same level “clean” as they were before while using PEDs (e.g. Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun)

@@yawos9024 A good start and finish are both important. He's short thats why he's not good at finishing but he's always ahead of everyone in the beginning then the taller ones catch up at the end. His start is the reason why he's good in the 100 m. 60 m is still a race & in the nfl they test 40 m dash at the combine, he'll have a good chance at the WR there. 60 m is pure sprinting, 100 m includes a bit of endurance towards the end. Nothing can knock how impressive his 60 m time is, he's top 5 in 60 m & the fastest white guy at the 60 m is top 158. Also another asian had the WR for the fastest 110 m hurdles at one point, he's still the 3rd fastest today.

@@terryscott2632 Ever heard of Kim Collins? Or the female Ahoure? They had fabulous starts. Bolt did not necessarily have good starts but he was able to win because of his top end speed. 60 meters is no conclusive indicator of doing fast time the 100s. They key is when you start to decelerate.
@terryscott2632
@terryscott2632 2 роки тому
@@yawos9024 You seem to view the 100 m dash as the main indicative of what a sprinter is. It's a separate race from the 60 m. Usain bolt is also the fastest 200 m sprinter. He has better endurance. Su Bingtian literally has the fastest 60 m split in the world faster than usain bolt, but to you that's nothing impressive. You can't compare 2 races. 60 m is where he shines. That's like saying usain bolt has the fastest 100 m & 200 m but it means nothing because that are sprinters than run a much faster 400 m than he does.

Shame he couldn't replicate that semi-final run in the final of the Olympics....was pretty impressive....would have had a chance at a medal if he did.

Like an amateur, Su blew his load in the semi and couldn't recover quick enough. WTF was he thinking?
@ThunderJuice
@ThunderJuice 2 роки тому
@@henri.r94 Su went all out and they reacted into running those fast times. Had he paced himself to run a 9.9, the others would have too.
@tahjwilson5475

@@ThunderJuice You have to understand it from Su's perspective. Before that race had started, there were 2 guys faster than him in his heat (Simbine and Baker) and one guy who could rival his PB and maybe faster Jacob. He knew he had no choice but to go all out to guarantee his placement into the finals. This wasn't one of those races where he could relax and control the pace. If he tried Baker and Jacob, maybe even Simbine would have flew passed him knocking him out of the finals.
