And with partial unlapping, they'd be favoring Red Bull. So why not do the full unlap (as per the rules, history and common sense) and allow the race to finish under Safety Car. Just because you want a Hollywood Ending doesn't mean it will be one. And if it isn't going to be one, the desire to have one is not enough to rewrite or create rules to enable one. A sham.

@@PorterUk It didn't favor RB since Lewis was still in the lead. Finishing under the SC would've been just as unfair as the title would've been decided under yellow flag conditions and without actual racing. All Masi did was give the opportunity to decide it on track. He didn't give Max the championship since Max still had to fight for it, and then defend from Lewis.

@@HandlesSuck123 Just as Tephnos says. If anything that final lap showed just how much faster Hamilton was than Verstappen as he was able to at least mount a defence on used Hards. The difference should be like a Porsche 911 versus a VW Golf yet he somehow made it a Golf GTI! That Max weaved so much down the straight after the overtake... I don't see anyone mentioning that. Oh that's right, because it was illegal. I really hope you're not a new fan from watching a few episodes of Real Housewives of F1 on Netflix and I'm just pissing into the wind trying to argue the reality of racing...

@@Tephnos Nobody forced Lewis to stay on those 40 lap old hards. The SC period wasn't the full race. During the VSC, they could've easily pitted Lewis for new tyres to cover Max's pitstop and be more prepared for a SC. Would he have lost track position? Likely, but guess what, that's racing. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Mercedes were so afraid of having to race Max on track that they went with the conservative route, and it ultimately failed. RB adapted appropriately and won. There is no need to punish Max and RB when there is nothing they did wrong. Blame the FIA for being so inconsistent. They've been inconsistent all year but you're only angry now.

@@joaopinto5850 they did not break their own rules in this case. check rule 39.12 and 39.13. Not that it would matter, they broke rules to favour Mercedes the whole season long.

@@eslofftschubar206 Even the stewards admit that they did not completely follow 39.12. They said that because they put out the "Safety Car In" notice (39.13) they can ignore finishing 39.12 (Safety Car comes in 1 lap after lapped cars pass) . That is making an excuse for breaking their own rules.
