Great live band. Commontime is a fantastic record, and they are probably the most underrated band in UK.

The fact that this song (and this band) doesn't have more views or isn't more well known is unbelievable to me. Not normally one who thinks or comments this kind of thing but this song is just too great to be ignored!

Can't remember the last time Later actually booked a great band. Love them and I hope this album brings the success they deserve

+seasider1962 I agree 100%, they are sublime and deserve far more recognition than they currently get. Has there ever been another group in popular music with 2 interchangeable lead singers/guitarists that also play the drums and actually do so when playing live? I had this discussion in the pub the other night and nobody could name another act that did this. There's obviously lots of singing drummers and drummers that can get out from behind their kit and sing/play guitar, but 2 interchangeable lead singers/guitarists that also play drums? They are both so talented at what they do you can't really say what their 'main' instrument is either.

To add to that they can actually play their instruments, harmonise, write good songs, great mix of influences. In fact more than the average stuff you see/hear nowadays. Thanks for posting.

Their new song Count it Up is PERFECT timing. Between Trump and Brexit our house needed a check on how very lucky we are.

@@grizcuz maybe not 'popular music' but '.......and you will know us by the trail of dead' switch out guitar / drums / vocals during sets.

Why hadn't I heard of this incredibly original band before watching 'Jools'. Yes shades of Prince, Steely Dan (or possibly more like Donald Fagens solo efforts), but the more you listen you find early Genesis and Yes, Hall and Oates, Manic Street Preachers and even Atlanta Rhythm Section. Having dropped all those names Commontime is about as original as you can get - and they're British. Who knew there were that many possible chord shapes available! As good as it gets.

Can't listen to this song/bassline without thinking of Can't Feel my Face.

I agree with seasider... a good contemporary band on Later? A miracle. Not seen one since Lewis Taylor's appearance, years ago. Field Music are out there, in a, um... field of their own: eclectic, intelligent pop rock, performed with understated and natural talent, verve, and, dammit, soul, pursuing their own musical vision, instead of pumping out bland product in a vainglorious pursuit of celebrity. I hope Field Music continue to do their thang. It's fab!

have you listened to dutch uncles? their album out of touch in the wild is a masterpiece. they say they're heavily influenced by field music so i checked them out and wow.
