Damn, this brings in the feels for me. How literally good this is, and how the story is portrayed. Or maybe I’m just too interpretive lol

That hit me so hard, wasn't expecting something I could relate to... The doodles at the beginning and the font style, as well as the description make clear that this animation is about school and how it affects our mental health : ”If I worked harder back then, would I be happier today?” I think she's been working hard during her childhood, always getting great grades (0:07 is (i think) her looking back at how successful she was back then). But as time goes on, it keeps getting harder to work and to get good results. 0:10 definitely shows her struggling to understand something, probably a homework since she's got a pencil in her hand. The part from 0:12 to the end of the animation is the one that hits me the most : we can clearly notice symptoms of a burnout : she struggles to work, but she has to keep going, so she keeps trying even though it hurts, which makes the symptoms even worse. People are only interested in success, they don't see that you are suffering. 0:28 made me so emotional, at the end we all become prisoners of our own hard work (the pencil) : people have too many expectations. We no longer work for our own good, we work for these people, and it just keeps killing our mental health. Do we still have control over our decisions ? Or do the other people control us ? I completely relate to this interpretation, I've been working hard my whole life to try and achieve my goals, but it keeps getting harder. Today I still don't know if I'm going to make it... I also feel like I don't want to work like this : i want to have friends, i want to find love, i want to be happy and enjoy life, but I'm a "prisoner of the pencil" after all... what I want is not what people care about... (sorry i had to finally get this off my chest lol) Sorry for my terrible english, and thanks for reading ! This is only my interpretation of the animation, I may be completely wrong lol

I really like the ending bc to me it signifies that the strings binding her, are ones she drew herself! It kinda shows how gifted and smart kids bound themselves up in a mindset of win or lose, and now that she’s older, she has no choice but to draw more strings that control her with her own pen. Real cool animation!!!

Even if it is weird, the thing that caught my eye the most was your description. It just gives a whole perceptive when you rewatch it. Currently, I'm a tenth grader. The year you have to give it your all to get into a stable job or college in my country. 0:25 the eyes... I could have been high achiever.. When everyone looks at me for good grades, it makes me feel proud. But at the same time, I just like to be average. That way, people won't have expectations for me. I am just an average student who just stay quiet even if I know the answer. Most of it is fear. What if my answer was wrong? What if people lost hope in me because I failed once? Now that I typed this out, I realized how stupid my question is. Should I try harder now and procrastinate less? Yeah.. I should I guess. Anyway, I love how you can color and animate smoothly at the same time. The color pallete is really pleasing ^^

I find myself coming back to this video again and again. Your colour palate is unbelievably comforting, combined with the fact that I can relate to your animations so well. Life and especially school has been hitting hard recently. I get way to competitive with my grades, always dissatisfied when I do worse than others. As a result struggle to keep up with my art and studying and I often failed doing both feeling too drained after I study to draw and vice versa. But I've been doing way better recently, learning to find a more healthy approach to studying. Only a few more weeks of exams and I'll have some time to relax and focus on art. Thank you for your incredible animation, it has seriously helped keeping me motivated for my art and studying and my art, I appreciate it greatly! For anyone else reading this going through a lot of upcoming tests and exams, I wish you best of luck and don't let yourself get beaten down by your grades, I believe in you!

I know I'm late as hell, but I really love the touch at the end of the animation. The word Control switching between an exclamation point and a question mark, the same way a person would say "I got this, everything is in Control!" but later would question if they can really do this and if they are really in control. It's such a small detail but I love it so much.- Also your style and animation is really good, keep it up my melting friend.

This one hits a bit harder than the rest. It reminds me of the feeling of needing to be perfect and especially great academically, but then the end reminded me of not only the burnout from school, but the lack of motivation to do something I actually enjoy: writing. The strings could have been her being controlled, metaphorically like a puppet, to work hours on end regardless of her mental health. Although, the first feeling that hit was the feeling of those strings holding me back.
