Rule of thumb: if you’re in 3rd place going into FJ, and the 1st and 2nd place players’ scores are very close to each other, then bet $0.
@wreckingKREW13 роки тому
Meh,not if it's a category I feel comfortable with I wouldn't. I'm shoving all-in in that case.
@capnamazing3 роки тому
Many players on this show don’t incorporate game theory into their wagering. The above comment is correct; third place should have wagered $0. If she had done so, she would have remained champion. Think of it this way: the only way you can win from behind is if the players ahead of you get it wrong. If you’re in third and first and second are near each other, they will try to outbet one another. If they both get it wrong, they will finish below you and you win. So the correct wager is $0 in third place.
@freewilly57943 роки тому
In this scenario, first place bid correctly, $9001. Incorporating game theory, second place knowing that first place was going to bid 9001, should have been $201. If he is right, he guarantees second place at a minimum and if first place is incorrect he moves he wins. If he is wrong he's still forces third place to bet most of their total in order to win. Given that we now know that first place that 9001 and second place that 201, third place now needs to bet 5600 to end with a possible total of $11,200. You don't need to bet 5601, because if second place is wrong with a bet of 201, he would finish with 11,199. So the person who made the biggest mistake was actually second place. Now some would say why second place shouldn't bet more to exceed first places current total. again you need first place to get it wrong and you force them to bet big, so you don't need to try to exceed their current total even if you are right. Also remember if first place is right it doesn't matter what you bet.

I had the same reaction. With just the answer, I was trying to think of a military battle somewhere, maybe the Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimean War. As soon as I saw the category "Westerns" I knew it had to be Tombstone.

I'm surprised that all three contestants got this one wrong. I didn't think it was that bad. But then again, I had an advantage because I visited Tombstone when I was in AZ on a business trip.

@johnsciara94183 роки тому
I believe that what almost happened was that if the 3rd place contestant bet $0 They would have still won. Because even if they got the answer right, they would have to depend on the other two contestants not getting the right answer

The shootout only lasted like around ten minutes. Anyone know for sure?
@davidho29773 роки тому
When I visited Tombstone, I think once an hour, they had actors act out the shootout. So my guess is 5-10 minutes. How long is it in the movie?
@aspenrebel3 роки тому
Yeah, what I said in another comment here, it lasted about 30 seconds (according to Google search).
@aspenrebel3 роки тому
Why would newspaper say "blood flowed like water"? There was not that much shooting, not that many got shot, and it lasted like 30 seconds. I was thinking of some civil battle between miners and police.
