Interesting. I think he’s quite awkward in the role. He doesn’t seem in command of the content. To me, the best post-Alex host was Mike Richards...by far.

He seems really wooden. I honestly thought Ken Jennings was much better.

The “Rabbit” series of books by John Updike (who is American) also crossed my mind for a couple seconds, but those too were written much later than the ‘30s, and they weren’t literally about 🐰 🤣

2/3 also named a book written in the 40s. Ugh....

@@bjgentry I really didn't know who he was before he was hosting Jeopardy, as I don't watch football, but he was very good.

@@bjgentry He’s appeared more comfortable as the week went on, and ultimately the focus of the week has been on the answers/questions, the players, and the game. I don’t watch to see the host put on a show; I watch for the game. Obviously, with years of experience and talent, Trebek found the perfect spots to inject his own personality, but those moments were really a small percentage of the content of the show. Trebek’s biggest asset was always his respect for the game and its integrity; the game is the heart of the show. Rodgers has the same respect for the game and isn’t making himself the star of the show - the game is the star. (Also, and I don’t mean this disrespectfully, but there were plenty of times when Trebek came off as condescending to players; attempts at humor can walk a fine line, and particularly years ago there where times when Trebek’s jokes came at the players’ expense. This decreased over the years and Trebek showed his gracious side far more than his sarcastic side, which served him well and I believe was a truer reflection of his character than the condescension. But I guess my point is that I appreciate a guest host showing humility in his stint, and Rodgers has done that despite being the biggest star to host this far.)
