I love how Perturbator and Carpenter Brut walk different paths but always side by side. This video is undeniably similar to Fab Tool and that's AWESOME.

As always, we can identify some metal foundations in background fitting so perfectly with the singer and the universe of the song. The clip looks unreal, it's transcending. It's a very nice collaboration. Though, I'm not a giant fan of dark metal, the melody of Perturbator, makes me appreciates the song by itself.

Each time Perturbator drops a new song or album it always challenges my current music taste. Going from 80s retro synthwave to this keeps me so refreshed and interested in what he comes up with next. It's just the shear amount of character he puts into each song that's so impactful and mesmerizing. Topping it off with Cult of Luna?! Pure ear candy!

Finally someone combined two of the most complimentary music genres! Thank you Perturbator and Johannes.

I am writing this comment because I've seen some really close-minded and harsh comments comming from the members of Perturbator's "fanbase" who prefer his early work and the "synthwave" sound of his previous albums. I honestly can't see how you can hate this new album so much just because of the growls and how can you be so stuck in one place refusing to experiment with new genres, new sounds and to experience something completely new and fresh. I personally love how Perturbator has evolved. I see all of his albums as just small pieces of a greater picture. If his soundtrack-inspired albums are supposed to tell the listener a story, not just deliver a bunch of separate songs than the same applies for all of his albums combined. Starting from "Terror 404" and "I Am the Night" going through "New Model" and "Lustful Sacraments" finishing here with "Final Light" I see a graduate path of increasing darkness and various metal themes on which the listener is accompanied by great music all the way since the beginning till the present day. It's a beautiful journey filled with incredible artistic value. I am also happy for Perturbator, because in one interview he said that he doesn't listen to synthwave and that his favourite genre of music is black metal. By pushing his music closer and closer to his metal roots he produces something with so much more heart and soul. It must be a great success for him to be able to break free from the chains of synthwave and finally be able to create the heavy and dark sound he always loved and wanted to make. Don't get me wrong, all of Perturbator's work has that high degree of darkness, but this is just a new and different kind and the growls are a perfect choice to help to tame the character of the new album. I understand that it's a matter of taste and that it is possible you discovered Perturbator in his early days or through his older albums and you just got used to that kind of sound, or maybe you're not a metal enjoyer. Despite that, I don't understand the childish desire for Perturbator not to change and evolve. I mean do you *really* need another "Dangerous Days"? Do you *really* need another "Uncanny Valley"? Or another "I Am the Night"? Those albums alredy exists and they are already perfect. They do not need to be replicated nor more of the same kind of sounds need to be produced, because we already have that and you are free to listen to them as much as you like. My personal favourite album by Perturbator is "Lustful Sacraments" but as much as I love this album, I don't feel the need to have another of the same sound. I see it as a perfect piece of music on it's own and I re-listen it often (it never gets boring. I always find something new in the depths of synth layers used in the music). Maybe I'm digging this new sound of Perturbator combined with the growls of Cult of Luna because I'm a metalhead and I listen mainly to metal subgenres. I feel like that is true for most of Perturbator's listener base. Heavy metal listeners tend to enjoy darksynth because it has some inseparable metal themes fundamentally included deep within it's electronic sound. I think the hate is comming from the small portion of listeners who do not listen to metal music or to the heavier subgenres of metal. They probably listen to synthwave, dakrsynth and maybe game soundtracks most of the time. I can't say how big the percentage of Perturbator's listeners are that type, but I hope not many and I'll explain why. Nothing against your musical preference, you do you. But if that portion of close-minded listeners is big enough, they can make the Album artificially badly received by pumping out bad reviews. We know from the past that the musical world is more often than not harsh to those who are willing to experiment and change. That's why this album is a very brave move by James. It shows how much he believes in his sound, work and art. I really don't want to see "Final Light" be rated as a bottom tier album. It has so much value and perfection in it already. If you're going to rate it low just because "oh growls bad, me not like growls, me want more Hotline Miami OST" than honestly I don't know what to tell you. To those of you who get really salty in the comments saying how much you hate this new music and despite that call yourself "Perturbator fans": yes, you kids are Perturbator fans. We, who love this new fusion of Perturbator's dark atmospheric synths and Johannes Persson's heavy growls, we who love Perturbator's evolution, progression and musical path, we are *Perturbator Enjoyers* !

At first I was put-off by the vocals of Cult of Luna, but as I kept re-listening to the song and now after 5 go-arounds, I can't picture the song without them. They add such a haunting and visceral feeling that gives it so much weight and help drive the thumping dystopian synths. Perturbator once again has both elevated and evolved his style to new dizzying heights, and I am fucking here for it!

Refreshing. Love it. Visually the video it self packed with symbolism; Separation, death, acceptance, rebirth. The music takes it to the 4th auditory dimension, matching spot on. Combined they tell a story which will take several replays to decipher (for me anyway). Might not be everyone's cup of tea but for me it a masterpiece. Good job.

stop saying that perturbator was better when he was doing "synthwave" if you want to listen to the "synthwave" of perturbator you have all the albums up to a new model, or there are other artists who make this music, james is just doing what he wants to do now and this mix of industrial and black metal and for me the logic suite of the perturbator project 🔥

There’s a reason why my favorite Synth/Darkwave artists continue to stay my favorite. It’s because of works like this. They don’t stay stagnant (like a lot of people want them to). They move forward and experiment with new sounds, while still maintaining their signature essence. (I know Perturbator doesn’t like being lumped into Synth/Darkwave, it’s just how I identify them)
