I never watched any of the Dream SMP, only seen fan made stuff. I would watch it but I get the feeling it's one of those things the fandom makes look so much better and more dramatic than it is lol

Do you all notice how at 0:35, Tubbo says "You're gonna sacrifice me." And then at 1:28, Tommy has to make a choice between Tubbo or the discs. The details are so amazing..

I like how when Tommy slashes the mask off dreams face that counts as one life, then when Tommy steps on the mask that's two. Really creative.

Honestly, this part of the server really does feel like the “Final Waltz”, at least for me. I don’t really watch the Dream SMP anymore(Tommy and Techno were the only ones I watched really) and this was basically the last part of the SMP that I watched. It ties up loose ends from the first war ever, securing the discs and putting Dream rightfully in prison. I have heard he escaped with Techno, but I’m just not as caught up as I used to be. Wonderful animation, Sadist! Technoblade never dies. As long as we remember him, that statement stays true. ❤️

2 years ago this came out. 2 years ago, this animation was my favorite. Now, 2 years later, this is *still* my favorite one from Sad-ist. Keep doing what you do, you're very obviously good at it

For context on Punz's line: "I'm sorry, Dream. But you should have paid me more.": The day before the Disc Confrontation (the event that the video is inspired on), Punz wanted to replace the Punzo Blade of Justice, (his most prized sword) which was destroyed by a wither blast on Doomsday. He found a sign Tommy left outside his base, asking him to check the seventh floor of his tower, where Tommy left a chest with gold, TNT, diamonds, and netherite ingots. In the room, Tommy left signs describing his distrust of Punz and asking if the payment was enough for his loyalty to him. Punz was torn on whether to help Tommy, musing to himself that the payment was "more than Dream had ever given" him, since he has sided with Dream since the War for L'Manberg's Independence, and reflecting that Dream might be going insane. After the confrontation and Dream's imprisonment in Pandora's Vault, Tommy thanked Punz for coming to help. Tommy later admitted to Tubbo in private that he hadn't thought Punz would come, to which Tubbo concurred, saying that he thought Punz hated them.

Dream had a pretty understanding villain arc in the story as everybody saw him as the antagonist of everyone else's story because he was driven by the power of control. Yet, lest you forget, it was the way everybody wanted control, which would've lead to them controlling each other, and the fear of being controlled like puppets. Whoever would hold the puppet strings would make the rules, and Dream saw this as an opportunity to take back his server as he may as well have feared the future becoming unpredictable with constant conflict. He couldn't just wrap puppet strings around everybody, considering the people who he would've once considered as his friends. His acts were heinous, but behind every crime committed, there's always a reason why they did it. Just being evil because they like it is never the correct answer unless they had proven beforehand that they enjoyed hurting others.

This looks like a scene where the protagonist battles the main villain at the end of a show, but we all know it’s far from over. Also, that’s some really good animation.

Going back and rewatching all of these for the millionth time lately. Always fun to notice the little things on a rewatch. Today was the first time I caught Quackity's scar at 2:24 that he got in the Hog Hunt animation from Techno's pickaxe through the teeth, in exactly the same place. Detailed even down to which side of his eye the wound was closest to. Forever amazing, SAD-ist.

the part where they said “so I can control the server” and the cuts shifted from being on beat with the music to cutting in time with the word “control” is such a small detail but is SO powerful, and the fades from the purples to the blue greens look incredible

If this is somehow your first time watching this video, or you're coming back for nostalgia, please, watch it with the captions on. The color of the captions changes throughout the video, sometimes with specific words being a different color, and I've never seen anything like that done before.

SAD-ist is one of the most brilliant artists I've ever seen ~~~ Lighting was *perfect,* sound effects (the rod, swords, axe, etc.), music was amazing, and the fight scenes were *incredible.* SAD-ist also did a really amazing job at adding details: Dream's eyes, shadows, the way the *subtitles also changed color with the animatic* Also did anyone else see Drista at 1:45? 😂

The fact that Tommy spared Dream because he wants Wilbur to live- Okay that made me go on the feels train. That written detail, that little detail in the dialouge shows Dream's mini manipulative traits and Tommy's love for the people he's close to that make him reconsider what he was about to do, it's drawn beautifully along with the other details that were so cleanly/beautifully animated. I love this so much.

"the mastermind controlling the most puppets, also has the most tying him down" -cool quote I made up when seeing dream getting cornered in this animation video

Honestly this would have been the perfect finale to a great story.

This was truely the last dream SMP animation, Sad Ist just couldn't keep up and the server ended all toghether. All that's left and I HOPE YOU DO is to make one final animation about the server. The best of moments, best of times. The good and the bad of that server to conclude such a legacy

Honestly, Dream feels a bit dragon-esque in this one, and I LIVE FOR IT! Just, hoarding items of power to eventually gain the control ripped from his grasp as the original ruler, is just a perfect set up for a dragon, or at least part dragon character!

@Sad-ist i’ve been trying to get in contact with you to let you know that i’m a big fan of your work (especially these dsmp animatics) and over the last 3 years i’ve been working on creating the plot for a fully animated Minecraft Anime with around 4 seasons and a crazy storyline. i’ve been struggling with different parts of it, mainly the pressure of being on a mental timer and feeling like i need it finished in the next few years, and i would love for you to help with the progression and receive any advice you may have for me and maybe consider helping animate it some day :) again, i absolutely love your animation style and i really hope we can get in contact soon, thank you and to anyone else that sees this and would like to help me work on it, i’d greatly appreciate it 🙏

The fact that his eyes are green just makes it even better. It makes dream look even more insane. Another thing I like is how Wilbur's eyes are empty because he's dead. Just really cool details to see.

Absolutely incredible, the pacing, the animation, the music, everything on point!

1:08 - 1:10 the quick switch between these scenes really show how much darker the SMP has become, and how things escalated. From simple clothes and a small battle on a hillside to a full blown fight to the death on a gigantic mountain. I can also appreciate how Dream’s tower is all wonky and crooked, showing how his antics spiraled out of control.

I know it's just a Minecraft thing but it's so chilling as they step through the portal and even though they hate Tommy they still help

i only noticed this after my second watch through, but i love how dream's mask remains only half on until he's pleading for his life and trying to convince tommy to spare him... then the mask is fully on, as a visual indicator that the mask, his change in behavior, is his protection. and then tommy cuts it completely off, not falling victim to dream's manipulation anymore. without the protection of his mask, dream, bare faced and vulnerable, finally surrenders his last chance at staying alive : the revive book. edit: the only other time he fully wears the mask is during the battle with tommy and tubbo, again showing he's on guard. the mask only shifts from this when he's feeling confident (half), or when he's been defeated (completely off).

Punz's line was the best- "We're sorry Dream, but you should've paid me more."

SAD-ist needs to make a Dream SMP movie. I think they're so talented and can definitely do it.

One small detail that I don't think people noticed: look at the only frame where techno appears. When you see the axe of peace on the wall, on his neck you can see an emerald, indicating back at the "friendship emeralds". What I want to say is that, in truth the most valuable object to him is the friendship emeralds he and both Phil owns as Phil was the first ever person Techno saw as a "true friend" after he got 'betrayed' many times.
