I think it's cool that a kid's toy can spark interest in different minerals/gems among the youth. Didn't expect that diamond to be worth much, but still. Cool toy! 😊 As for the controversy surrounding diamonds themselves, i advise that whoever can afford to buy jewelry of any sort should look into ethically sourced products. I am not into overly expensive stuff, mostly for what i believe holds a meaning and is pretty. I love amethyst, which isn't overly expensive. And if one knows where to look, they can find good stuff, ethically sourced and at a decent price. Thrifting is always an option too. I live in Bucharest (Romania) and there are a lot of antique fairs here. The way i see it, this sort of shopping counts as recycling/reusing. 😊
