You ask, "How are people upset with this man?" A chunk of our population hates being confronted with reality and truth. They react with grade school level intolerance, tantrums and violence. Oh, in case you didn't know, the newscaster is Tom's sister. She moved down to Cali with her husband and now Tom and Nova employ them both. He meant it in his earlier songs about taking care of his parents and sister. Love your reactions. Peace.

This was my first Tom MacDonald experience. It was summer of 2020 and I was looking for something OTHER than riots protests and looting - i disconnected my DirecTV cuz I was done with TV, and I went to UKposts and found a reaction channel - never knew these existed - of some young dude "Rap fan listens to Metallica for the first time". I was intrigued having grown up in the 80s and Metallica was my fav band. I had a blast watching vicariously through the young man's eyes discovering the greatness of the music I was obsessed with my whole life - i started digging deeper and found dozens of these reaction channels existed, and all them simultaneously reacted to this song by this weird looked tatted up braided dude that raps - and i don't like rap, so I never bothered, but every single channel was doing this and I didn't understand the hype. So late one night I said "fine i'll check it out just so I can say i did it, and then can move on and realize it wasn't my thing." Boy was I wrong. 30 seconds in I'm cheesing over here laughing and loving it and by the end of it, I was ready to watch every channel's reaction. Next morning I showed my wife, and she fell in love with the song; i still remember her going "OH MY I LOVE THIS GUY!" I spent the next day listening to ever video of his I could find and I was hooked. I bought every one of his CDs online that day, and he has become my favorite artist since discovering Metallica back in 1986.

I feel you bro.Only difference was I listened to old school rap and I also loved classic rock,punk,thrash,metal etc.. I love the music this guy and his woman makes as well as videos but my favorite part is all the truth he sings about. This dude is a lyrical warrior that can also scrap if need be. Same kind of situation. Wasn’t into rap, or Tom’s look. First song I heard was The System. I was COMPLETELY hooked! Can’t recall how many years it’s been since I heard cold truth in a song. Since going down the rabbit hole of Tom, I’m a giant fan of the straight truth of each lyric. “Bacteria is life on Mars, but a heart beat on Earth isn’t”. This year it will be my 12 yr old grandson. I've shown all the kids how to do drills, saws etc. So far only one of the grandkids have been some serious workers. Teach them the respect of hard work!!

Tom Macdonald is simply stating facts. It doesn't take long, confusing rhetoric to get through, if anything, saying it simply is the most effective way to put it out there. I'm with you on canceling participation trophies! When I was young we'd throw our second and third place trophies in the trash. My soccer coach made us stay on the sidelines and watch the other team celebrate after they beat us in the 1996 regional finals, because he wanted us to use our sadness and anger as fuel to do better the next year. Hes a TRUE INDEPENDENT ARTIST too.he writes produces prints and even distributes everything on his own...well with the help of his girlfriend and maybe a few buddies who are really just his friends. Hes got full creative control and that's how he can speak the truth the way he does. It makes me wonder how much better music might be if the industries werent pulling all the strings... I agree with alot of people in these comments too, i dont listen to rap either but TOM has my undivided attention.i actually LISTEN to his songs.❤ remember when rap was about real life and the struggles rappers had to go through and where they came from before they got to where they were and coming up? Thats when rap was good. Now its just " F you i got more than you money money hoes hoes cars mansions diamonds". Man most of those rappers dont even own the houses theyre in. The industries own them, along with the cars and even the clothes. they start by sticking them in some nice house and all this jewelry and clothing and nice cars to portray an image that people want to see and its basically all on loan until they reach higher status. Thats partially why they have ao much control and can make them do all the shit they do. "we made you" they dont want someone relatable, they want to sell a dream. Just like everyone else.

I believe participation trophies started all of this intolerance and selfishness. It's made many young people have no work ethic and think life is fair and no one should say anything negative about anyone else. We seem to have a very emotional and "me" country. Whew, I need to get off this soapbox. LOL. Great reaction!
