Hahahaha love the start. Love the intro. I been following, the hobbywing max4 is a great esc. Right know im pushing a 1150kv 5870 on 10s without any issues. Also have a 2280 d3….different class of motor but you can defiantly get more boost with higher kv/ a little more amp draw. You put a lot of time and money so i’m not advising you to spend more. I have a tp 5670 cm 2510 6 pole you could test on 6s safely..spins to 47,000 under load(“8s rated motor” but no esc is capable of running the 6 pole motor’s to + 80,000rpms). I ran it with 10mm bullets. It’s a beast

Thanks. I'm actually working on mounting the TP Power motor to the P2 blower right now. I have all the "hard to get" parts on hand too - particularly the belt and the pulley. Hopefully there will be a video of the whole setup running at least on low power in the next several days.

Really like the idea of electric turbo/superchargers. I don't have the expertise to make a kit myself and off the shelf kits in the UK are £2100 which is out of my reach but im hoping one day there will be a happy medium.

Are you referring to Torqamp? Those are really only good for about 200 hp. This unit should be good for 600-650 hp (less on lower powered cars that want to run more boost - the boost/max output relationship has yet to be established). This setup would cost about $1,500 USD (sorry, no pound symbol on my keyboard) to reproduce without batteries if you DIY. Not that I'm suggesting you do so. And if you do, I'm not responsible for any harm. But if you do, the really nice thing about this setup is how flexible it is - it'll work just fine on 150 hp engines up to 500 hp engines.

@@AlexLTDLX Hi,yes i was referring to torqamp. Your setup sounds fantastic but i don't feel im knowledgeable enough to partake such a thing.i only have a civic with a 1.6 vtec producing 110bhp and would be happy with something like a 50bhp brief boost for sure, nothing to crazy. I suppose i could fit a Nos kit for that and cheaper but i much prefer this idea. Really enjoy your videos and thank you for the reply.

@@AlexLTDLX Awesome video and a great primer to the 'fun' of figuring VESC out. Thank you. I can't help but be a troll... 650HP? Is that all? Teslas can do that without the smelly and complicated squish bang expand exhausty bit :-P

@@jibbyjabby7499 if you just add a motor in parallel to the engine as a sort of hybrid, the Trampa could easily give you a 20-25HP boost, and with improved low end torque if you gear it right

how have you sliced the 3 wires from the vesc together? Obviously you have to join up the 3 power wires from the vesc and connect top the single power wires from battery / to motor. Be grateful to know how you did that. THanks

I had the same problem with servo controller, it's either on or off, no incremental throttle supposed to be able to control it with the keyboard arrows too but it just sits there and grinds when I try that
@BH4x0r
@BH4x0r 5 місяців тому
it depends, current control without any load will go max speed without any control, you need to use PID speed control or Duty Cycle control if you actually just wanna control the speed, but that way you need to be sure the rest is set up correctly cause it'll try to push all the power it can to its set limits i prefer current control for the sake of being able to control how much power/torque i feed maximally

It's been a while; VESC is honestly problematic all around. I don't remember the install process, but I'm seeing the latest update is a bit difficult to install for others. It's disappointing; and I'm a bit annoyed I wasted that much money on it. It's not really a useable product.

Hello, Do you know what ppm is?
@AlexLTDLX
@AlexLTDLX Рік тому
Yes - in this case it refers to the signal from an RC receiver or servo tester. Typically 50 hz, with a pulsewidth of 1-2ms. 1ms being throttle off (or full brake or reverse - depending on how you have the thing configured) and 2ms being full throttle.

@@AlexLTDLX you should check out the BESC G2 - an open source VESC variant, you order the PCBs yourself so you basically make it but it is beefy - 100V 400A… you can build it alternatively to handle 150V and 250A. And the best thing is it only costs about $200 I believe? It varies with the cost of the electronics.
