When you hear footsteps in the hallway or loud noises in the hall way just shut the door, that is how you get rid of bonnie, if you are certain that you heard loud foosteps in the hallway just wait about 1-2 seconds then close the door or close it immediately if you don't see chica there right after you check if chica is there or not.
