Today we put two very successful chefs against one another to figure out who would be the true Masterchef - since they have failed to live up to this challenge themselves. On one side of the ring we have Gordon Ramsay. The man, the myth, the one who dreams in our faces about our terrible food and we love it! His shows like Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen bring out the beast each episode. In the other corner we have Bobby Flay. This chill, southern chef is not only an Iron Chef, but his show Beat Bobby Flay thrives on the idea of pitting him against another chef. Will we spur them to actually stoke the fire and get this battle started IRL? I will certainly try!

The fact this is a dispute doesn't make sense, bobby defeats armatures with small restaurants, food trucks, or anything else to make himself feel better. The ICarly representation is incredibly accurate, all he wants is to win. Gordon would tell him what to do throughout the contest and bobby would still lose.

Anyone who’s watched Master Chef Junior or his family videos knows that Gordon Ramsey isn’t this awful, anger filled person that everyone paints him out to be. I think he really feeds (no pun intended) into that character for entertainment value because outside of his own shows, Gordon Ramsey is honestly so sweet and calm. Also Bobby Flay doesn’t stand a chance 😭

The only time Gordon goes ballistic on his chefs is on Hell's Kitchen because that is a real restaurant serving real people. He is literally running a restaurant while making the show. You can also see him being calm and praises his contestants when they did a very good job.

All I need to know is that Ramsay is a loving partner and father with a real reverence for world foods and the culture they come from. Not to mention built himself up from nothing. Flay cheated on his wife and sticks to mainly Americana foods. That and he had his daddy and his daddy's friend start his career. Flay's only redeeming quality is his cat named Nacho.

On the Iron Chef website they detail the BTS on how they go about ingredient selection. The 2 chefs actually vote on the top 3 ingredients that will be the options chosen at the recording. They are given a couple weeks to prepare based on the knowledge of the 3 ingredients they voted on together. I believe they are also allowed to submit special ingredients they would like to bring onto the show for approval.

If Ramsey eats your food and swallows it. That in and of itself is a compliment. He doesnt swallow someone food made by someone else unless it is decent. That's one consistent thing I have noticed with him. He almost always will spit out what it not done to at least decent standards.

Gordon Ramsay all the way. I got nothing against Flay, and my grandmother was a huge fan of his... but Gordon is the main man. He can carve an entire chicken blindfolded and has nearly perfected his craft with nearly every style of food out there. He's LITERALY a 16 TIME Michelin Star Chef, and the fact he currently holds 7 while Bobby can't even hold one tells you all you need. He's much more fitting of the title of "Master Chef"

The best way for them to compete would probably be in a completely new style tbh. 1 round where they cook using a secret ingredient that they both never used,v1 match making a dish they both never made, 1 match where they make a breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert, and then 2 matches where they gotta make the best dishes they know how to make. You could even include a match where they make a dish using cheap ingredients and a dish using expensive ingredients

Gordon loses all the time. He was struggling mightily to make native Southeastern Asian food when he traveled to that part of the world. There are better chefs than Gordon. All he really is is a reality TV persona who gets loud and aggressive toward women and artsy chefs. He knows who not to mess with.

To be fair- Gordon's had challenges spring up on him last minute and even when he loses he doesn't exactly fall from grace, even against a team of cooks in a last minute challenge with food style he hasn't thoroughly studied, he by himself managed to pull a tie. So I say even if the set ingredient is a surprise for him, he would still win or at the very least pull a tie.

As an aspiring chef, I'd say this is a good way to draw attention to each of their establishments. They start talking smack about each other and their cooking and proclaiming they are better than the other, it'll bring in people that wanna see who's best by trying their food. Thus gaining customers, money and business. So this is a good marketing ploy.

Now having Tournament of Champions where they actively role for multiple elements of the cook before the battle including must use ingredients, equipment, style, flavor profile, etc. IMO that would show the most dynamic chef of the two and is IMO the by far the best competitive cooking show now. For an even more intense version instead of 1 round like in the actual tournament, Bobby and Gordon could do a first to 5 wins or something with a new set of spins each round. So a similar structure to a championship style match like we see in the world classical chess championship. Another great format is the newer Super Chef grudge match, where the style is chosen before but they each bring a surprise must use ingredient to try and sabotage the other. This could also be really entertaining as their styles and experiences are so opposite to one another. Unlike the normal version of this show though they would need blind judges (the fact their isn't normally for this show weakens the competitive aspect a lot IMO) probably multiple dishes as well.

The same way 'juice' that is manufactured and not just squeezed from fruit, even if it contains fruit, can't legally be called fruit juice. Because it's something else at that point. So it gets labelled 'fruit drink.'
