Claiming not guilty is not a case of perjury . He might say something that can be proven as a lie though . But I would say the main reason they wouldn't put him on the stand , is because it would have a negative effect on the jury for him .

I don’t think the Supreme Court case has to set any reason to worry about some “rule”. They can simply say that whether or not there is some residual Presidential immunity inherent in the constitutional powers, none of the allegations against Trump are within that residuum.

It's absurd for Ty Cobb to say that the Supreme Court "HAS" to articulate a standard. The country has gone over 200 years where the standard was common sense and, even now, that is working just fine. It's the Supreme Court that no longer functions the way it was supposed to.

I’d like to hear Ty Cobb offer an actual definition for “smarmy” as he understands it because a) he doesn’t know its correct meaning, or b) he has a very different perception of Michael Cohen’s conduct post Trump. Cobb’s description ultimately said more about himself than it did Cohen …. And it’s not a good look.
