Cannavaro was undoubtely the best defender of the tournament, while Buffon was still the best goalie worldwide. Useless to say they were both playing for Juventus .

I remember watching this as I teen, I was so upset bc France wasn't at there best for the shootout. Zidane had got a red card, they had subbed out Henry, Vieira, Ribery, Trezeguet subbed in with cold legs. Italy was already heated up and ready for penalties. It felt as if hope was already gone for France. Amazing game tho
