After seeing the last Scene of "All of us strangers" I am not able to listen to this song without crying anymore ...

The ending of the movie "All of us strangers" really knocked me out. I cried, then sat for a long time in my chair while people left the theatre. When I finally got up there were still people sitting and crying together. Never seen such emotional reactions before. I was deeply impressed by the combination of lyrics and imagery.

All of Us Strangers crashed my spirit with beauty and relatable pain. Been years since a film did resonate in me so powerfully like this one. Being a gay man, artist and fighting depression… I ugly cried so many times. Art is the healing.

Knowing that life is truly awake when lived in love of someone, and knowing how unbearably precious it is. 😢 I first experienced this feeling second hand when I read Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials', an 11 year old on the cusp of 'waking' to the world of adults. I (re)discovered it first hand as an adult years later. The book and the song are extraordinary. They really see the core of love. Not an accident they bring together again the earthly and the divine. This life we have, here, is infinitely precious.

I had a really rough night yesterday (maybe the roughest in the last 4 months) and then I decided to watch a movie. I picked it accidentally (or not?) but it was one of my best decisions given the circumstances. I know it's a cliché but self-love is so important. So damn important. I've been hurting myself so many times and was wishing to be rescued by another human being and of course it doesn't work that way. I don't really know how to have more compassion towards myself but I've improved. Or I hope so. There are so many of us struggling, keep up the good work, beautiful people. Purge the soul. Make love your goal. Even if it should involve yourselves as well.

I saw this video for the first time as a kid in a tv-show where you could call in and wish music videos. I was probably 7 or 8 years old. It was around christmas time. Ornaments in the house. All the christmas smells. A lot of christmas anticipations.. I was watching the tv-show and all of a sudden this video comes on. And for some reason my little jaw dropped. I was completely swallowed and mesmerized by this song and this video. And i remember i felt so moved by it. It’s crazy what music can do. I was a little kid. And still to this day, this is like a christmas song to me. I heard it around christmas time that one evening watching tv when i was a little kid. I am 28 now, and every year around christmas i have to look this up. This song is so powerful to me and it has a special place in my heart. Some songs just etch themselves to you and become a part of you. Merry christmas everyone ❤
